Panini Peek: 2010 Donruss Football Rated Rookie Boxed Set (the ‘D’ Returns!)

With all due respect to the Philadelphia Eagles' spectacular Michael Vick, the greatest comeback story in all of football this season just might be the return of the old-school Donruss "D."

You know, the stylized letter that collectors have coveted since the early 1980s when it was the instantly recognizable symbol for baseball card greatness. The one that still makes them weak in the knees even now. The one that has drawn rave reviews for its iconic reemergence in the forthcoming 2010-11 Donruss Hockey and 2010-11 Donruss Basketball sets.

Oh, and it’s the one that will grace the just-announced 2010 Donruss Football Rated Rookie Boxed Set, a completely-self-contained collection that includes 100 Rated Rookies and one rookie autograph all for less than $20. (In the interest of full disclosure, it is just one penny less than $20; but it’s still a great bargain).

The 2010 Donruss Football Boxed Set arrives January 5, 2011; sounds like a Happy New Year to me. Check out some of the images to see for yourself . . .

  2. Let me be the first to say that a clean design like this with game photos of the rookies should be the basis for one of Panini’s regular FB products. Enough over designed foil board and photo shoot staged pics.
