Panini America officials will take a page from the hobby’s proud past for the debut edition of 2012-13 Brilliance Basketball, the newest addition to the company’s packed NBA roster that will deliver, among other things, a 300-card base set, landmark Starburst and Artists Proofs parallels, and the City to City dual-memorabilia insert set inspired in part by a recommendation from a Panini America collector.

Releasing in late May, 2012-13 Brilliance Basketball (six cards per pack, 20 packs per box) is bolstered by a 240-card Marks of Brilliance autograph insert, 60 Brilliant Beginnings rookie autographs and the Game Time Jerseys game-worn memorabilia insert. On average, each box of Brilliance will yield two autographs, one memorabilia card, two Starburst parallels and 13 additional inserts.

Also look for compelling inserts such as Team Tomorrow (20 cards), Spellbound (100 cards), Scorers, Inc. (20 cards), Magic Numbers (15 cards) and the 25-card Springfield Hall of Fame tribute.

We’ll have tons more to preview of 2012-13 Brilliance Basketball right here on The Knight’s Lance in the coming weeks. Until then, enjoy your first extended look at the product below.

  1. Looks really cool!
Tracy we are very curious about Panini signed with Naismisth Hall of Fame.
Just wondering if we would see Jordan Auto in near future or even a Jordan insert cards?
    Thanks for the preview.
Team Panini is really looking up and up!

  2. All I can picture is that beer commercial with them saying BRILLIANT!! Panini should run an ad saying Brilliance!

  3. Holy Cow…. yet another 12-13 NBA product. As of right now, I count 9, count ’em 9, basketball products yet to be released and that’s not counting National Treasures if that’s in the works for this season. Add those 9 to the 8 (if my count is right) already out and that makes at least 17 different products…….that seems excessive given the number of redemptions that are in many of the products. I would rather you release 10 quality products with on-card autos. Just my two cents worth.
