Boasting a bevy of new bells and whistles, Panini America’s 2012-13 Certified Hockey will arrive in November packing four memorabilia or autograph cards in every box (with at least one autograph guaranteed), a returning rainbow array of Mirror parallels, coveted Freshman Fabric autograph memorabilia RCs, and the all-new Goalie Pulls and Face Off Dual Sticks inserts.

The myriad refinements should be well received by those passionate hockey collectors patiently waiting for the third Certified release in Panini America’s NHL history.

2012-13 Certified Hockey includes a 100-card base set that is bolstered by 20 Masked Marvels, 20 Immortals and 60 Rookie Cards broken into three different subsets (15 Certified Rookies, 25 Freshman Signature Rookies and 20 Freshman Fabrics Signature Rookies).

The packout configuration includes 10 five-card packs per box and 24 boxes per case; those 24 boxes will be broken into three eight-box mini cases. In addition to the aforementioned four memorabilia or autograph cards per box, collectors will also find one Mirror parallel and three additional inserts or parallels.

Hot Boxes will fall one per mini-case; Freshman Fabrics Signature Rookies will fall two per mini case.

Other highlights of 2012-13 Certified Hockey include:

  • Mirror Red, Blue, Gold, Emerald and Black parallels
  • The all-new Goalie Pulls inserts allow you to make the call on leaving the goalie in the card or
  • pulling him from the net
  • The league’s best meet head-to-head in the Face Off dual game-used stick set
  • Relive the postseason with the Path to the Cup insert set highlighting each game of the 2011-12 NHL Playoffs

We’ll have plenty more on 2012-13 Certified Hockey in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But for now, enjoy this extended sneak peek . . .

  1. I am so excited for this product, this was my favorite last year and the players I sent cards to loved to sign one and keep one. The taped sticks and Goalie Pulls look amazing. Thanks for the sneak peek. Can’t wait to see the box break video, I would be happy to do one as a fan.

  2. Certified is always one of my favorite releases for any sport..hope to see more images of the football version soon as well right here on the one and only Knights Lance!

  3. Tracy, is panini still planning to have a full year of product even if some/all of the season is lost due to lockout?

  4. I like the concept for Goalie Pull (a la SP Inside Info from the 90s) but there should really be either another photo (as in, pull Brodeur and reveal a photo of Hedberg – get it?) or at least some text that is revealed – some reason to pull the pic out other than just playing with the card. Maybe this is just the early version. Anyway, looks like a decent mid-range product and I hope I pull a HOT BOX!

    1. Just talk to the hockey Product Managers & they liked the idea. One thing they wanted to share is that there will be a version that pulls out with a swatch or material!

  5. I really hope hockey is played this year. This year’s rookie class will be dynamite, maybe the deepest sine 05-06. I can’t wait because Panini does it right.
Tracy, was Jack Campbell at the rookie photo shoot?
    Thanks,
    T
