Panini Peek Preview: 2012 Certified Football
Yes, I understand that the buzz surrounding the just-arriving 2012 Prestige Football has reached a fever pitch and that excitement for the Prestige brand is literally at an all-time high. And, yes, I’m aware that 2012 Certified Football doesn’t arrive for another 11 weeks or so.
But something else I know is this: There’s likely not a more popular recurring series on The Knight’s Lance than Panini Peek, which provides the first look anywhere of Panini America’s new products. So when the preliminary product information sheet for Certified came across my inbox this morning, well, I had to jump on it.
Bolstered by a rich collecting legacy and bold new designs, 2012 Certified Football will arrive September 12 packing a per-box yield of four autograph or memorabilia cards, three Mirror parallels, one Immortal, one New Generation Rookie Card and one additional insert or parallel. The 350-card Certified base set includes 150 current superstars, 50 Immortals, 50 Immortals Materials, 65 New Generation RCs and 35 Freshman Fabric autograph memorabilia RCs numbered to 499 or less.
In addition to updated renditions of venerable product staples such as Certified Skills and Fabric of the Game, 2012 Certified Football also includes the all-new Essential Signatures autographed insert and jaw-dropping Rookie Combo NFL Shields.
Other highlights include . . .
- For the first time since 1999 Rookies & Stars, the John Elway Collection returns to honor some of the greatest achievements by one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, including oversized game-worn memorabilia pieces and autograph versions numbered to 10 or less.
- Mirror Material Gold, Emerald and Black inserts featuring prime swatches of material or autographs and sequentially numbered to 25 or less.
- Fabric of the Game returns with many collectible levels that include unique die-cuts, oversized memorabilia versions and autographs.
- The all-new Essential Signatures insert puts an autograph chase on 15 must-collect players for 2012.
