Panini Peek: 2013-14 Crusade Basketball

In early April, the collecting crusade that captivated hardcore hoops fans last year, is coming back for a whole new season -- and this time, it's bringing a lower price point, a lower print run and even more Crusade cards with it. Rest assured, Panini America's 2013-14 Crusade Basketball will pack a few more surprises, too. Due out April 7, each box of 2013-14 Crusade Basketball will deliver 18 Crusade inserts, one autograph card and one memorabilia card, all for a cost-effective $70 SRP.

In early April, the collecting crusade that captivated hardcore hoops fans last year, is coming back for a whole new season — and this time, it’s bringing a lower price point, a lower print run and even more Crusade cards with it. Rest assured, Panini America’s 2013-14 Crusade Basketball will pack a few more surprises, too. Due out April 7, each box of 2013-14 Crusade Basketball will deliver 18 Crusade inserts, one autograph card and one memorabilia card, all for a cost-effective $70 SRP.

Company officials are adding three new collectible colors to the Crusade rainbow this year (including Teals numbered to 299, Orange Die-Cuts numbered to 99 and Golds numbered to just 10) and bringing back popular brand staples such as Quest Memorabilia (featuring a prime parallel).

Other highlights of 2013-14 Crusade Basketball include . . .

  • High Praise Ink: Featuring autographs from some of the NBA’s biggest stars.
  • Apprentice Signatures: Featuring autographs from the top rookies of 2013-14.
  • All-new autographs sets including Hardwood Homage and Sultans of Springfield featuring signatures from legends of the game and members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • 2013-14 Crusade Basketball features a 150-card base set with 50 Rookie Cards and 50 Legends (both of which fall roughly one in three packs); the base insert lineup includes Nobility, Royalty and Knight Court sets that are paralleled by Silver (numbered to 25), Gold (numbered to 10) and Black 1/1 parallels.

    It surely will draw higher price for it.
    Yes Sir Tracy Crusade has been one of the Favorites among collectors.
    Anything that shines with low numbered inserts will always draw buzz.

    1. Wrong. This was my perfect product last year. 6 hits. 3 auto & 3 mem plus the crusade. Now it’s only 1 auto 1 mem. I don’t think it’s going to go well with collectors. Panini had me as a huge fan of this product buying it by the case. Now I don’t think I’ll even get a box… Just like Titanium. So many people were disappointed with the price vs what you got.

  3. The Crusade Insert cards were one of the nicest looking cards last year, i guess that will be the case again.
    18 Crusade inserts per box means 18 pack/box?
