Panini Peek: 2013 Momentum Football

Panini America officials struck a favorable collecting chord last season with the bold reintroduction of the Momentum brand in 2012 Momentum Football. The hit-per-pack product resonated with collectors on many fronts, but perhaps none was as well-received as an RPS Rookie Card that was clearly designed for maximum impact.

The good news for late-July’s release of 2013 Momentum Football? The majestic one-autograph, three-pieces-of-player-worn-memorabilia design returns (and once again will be numbered to 399 or less). The better news? So does so much more.

The addition of holographic foil and full-body photography will give the RPS RCs a bold, new feel; the RCs will be paralleled by prime-memorabilia versions and scarce NFL Shield versions featuring their own unique design.

Each 10-pack box of 2013 Momentum Football will deliver 10 autograph or memorabilia cards (with at least five autographs guaranteed), 10 Rookie Cards and one parallel. Headlining the insert lineup for 2013 will be . . .

  • Class Reunion Combos, Triples and Quads autograph cards that bring together standout members of historic draft classes from the past
  • The sparkling return of the real-diamond-encrusted Studs
  • Double Feature and Triple Feature memorabilia cards, featuring prime versions numbered to 49 or less
  • The multi-swatch Rookie Team Threads cards featuring both prime-memorabilia and autograph versions

We’ll have plenty more to share on 2013 Momentum Football in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But for now, sit back and enjoy this first extended sneak peek:

  1. Very awesome looking. Love the improvements from last year. The things I would do for that Eddie Lacy lol jk. Go Pack Go!

  2. Omgoodness!!! U are KILLING me today Tracy!! Lol You KNOW I LOVE Momentum…& u just HAD to post Momentum Basketball AND Momentum Football?! Lol #ImInHeavenTodayOnKnightsLance ! 😉

  3. Class Reunions will be a HUGE Chase!!! How about buyback inserts of the 2012 historic RC class…lol A guy can dream can’t he…

  4. I didn’t love the design of last year’s Momentum product, far too many 1C swatches and I found it to be kind of industrial… spartan looking. This year, however, Momentum looks much richer, & 10 hits/5 ‘graphs per box is fantastic. Hackler, what does the MSRP project to be?

  5. Momentum was great last year and this years design looks even better! Great job Panini, for raising the bar with every new release! Keep up the great work.

  6. Good looking preview Tracy, I was interested to see if the 10 pack per box format would returned based on the different adaptation to the basketball version. Thanks as always!

  7. This years version so far looks massively improved over last years. I like how Panini sticks with the roots of a product, but improves upon them on a yearly basis.

That Geno Smith card is pretty sick

  8. these r better than last years cards! jry cards were to small even the patch cards too. The ones showen here look good but still have to wait to see the rest of the cards when they come out. these could just be the best looking cards they have and that’s why there r showing them but u never know.Just have to wait and see..

  9. I love these cards and the designs are great. I only wish for the price per box that the hits were worth more. Thank you for the preview and the jersey patch cards look great.
