Panini Peek: 2013 Prominence Football

When 2013 Prominence Football arrives in early September, collectors who coveted the brand during its maiden launch last season will no doubt appreciate the many returning elements that made the 2012 edition so much fun to collect (including the Embroidered Patch Autographs and Rookie Class Letter Signatures) while also including the Prominence debut of the sensational Rookie Gridiron Gems Signatures.

Of course, collectors also will notice that the product’s configuration has been prominently revamped, too. For 2013, Prominence Football will deliver three five-card packs per box (to better allow for individual pack purchases), with each box delivering three autographs, two parallels and 10 base cards or RCs.

Also new for 2013 Prominence Football: No stand-alone memorabilia cards. Every hit in 2013 Prominence Football will feature an autograph from an insert lineup that includes Rookie Field Plates Signatures, Rookie Gridiron Gems Signatures, Rookie Class Letter Signatures, Rookie Helmet SignaturesRookie Embroidered Team Logo Patch Signatures, and short-printed dual- and triple-signed Eminence Signatures.

Heck, there’s even a new twist (or pull, rather) with the venerable Rookie Gridiron Gems Signatures, which for 2013 will pull up from the top as opposed to the traditional slide-pull configuration; all will be numbered to 249. Oh, and this year, there are parallel versions of the Rookie Embroidered Patch Signatures featuring Rated Rookie (numbered to 249 or less) and NFL Shield (1/1s) versions.

We’ll have plenty more on the new-look 2013 Prominence Football right here on The Knight’s Lance in the coming weeks. Until then, though, enjoy this first extended look at the product.

  1. HiGuys! Hey there Sir Tracy! Hey, I really really like this design! The base card design is great! Nice and clean and fresh 😉 Wouldn’t mide landing one of those rookie grid iron gem autographs of Geno Smith and Barkley! Nice deign, I’m really going to have to try and get me a few of these and check them out in hand in person! 🙂 Thanks guys! Have a GREAT WEEKEND!

  2. The 2012 Prominence was a product that delivered. Currently the price point of the 2012 Promince is below last years market value. Due to the mediocre at best 2013 rookies, I think I’ll stick to purchasing last years products. On a good note, I might add that; card stock, player representation, and the balanced rookie/veteran of this product, makes 2013 Prominence worth the risk to see what hidden gems await collectors!

  3. I may be alone in this one but I enjoyed it when each of those respective cards were in their separate brands, such as the team logo patch signatures being the staple in Rookies and Stars and the Letters being the key card in Threads. Nice nice design though.

    1. I thought you might. I thought it was pretty striking myself. Not sure if that’s what the box will look like, but that’s certainly the image we’re using on the sales material.

  4. It seems that Gridiron got the axe based on the Gridiron Gems moving to Prominence. Any other brands not making a return for 2013?

  5. I really like the nice crisp base design, but not a fan of the autos on those patches. From previous years I have seen multiple start to “weep” and fade.

  6. Another solid NFL release. I really enjoy the mix of autographs in here. And I am a fan of the letter sigs. But is there any field sigs this year for this product? Huge fan of those. I thought I saw some being signed at the Rookie Premiere or are those for something else?
