I’ve been away from the computer for a few days enjoying a family “staycation” — my wife’s word, not mine — and quite frankly, I’m suffering from content withdrawal right about now.

So in an effort the rectify the situation in short order, let’s get things kickstarted on this Tuesday morning with this world premiere first look at the some of the 25 retired NFL superstars who comprise the Legends subset in the forthcoming 2011 Timeless Treasures Football.

You’ll get a sneak peek at 13 of the 25 cards in the Legends subset below. For the other 12, you’ll have to visit our new Panini America Facebook page

  1. The subset looks nice. Hopefully there will be autographed versions of these cards as well.

I do have a question though, Why is Brett Favre in a Vikings uniform for a Legends insert?

  2. Love the idea of the set, but why are modern-age players being shown in black and white? It looks a little contrived. There’s no reason not to show these players in color, and it will set them apart from thier more vintage predecessors…

PS – I agree, Favre in a Vikes jersey for a “Legends” set looks pretty dumb..May as well show Bruce Smith with Washington, Emmitt Smith with Arizona, or Boomer with the Jets, or Arizona….Let me guess the rest – Thurman Thomas with Miami, Jerry Rice with Seattle, Johnny Unitas with San Diego, Warren Moon with KC….

  3. I like the subset, even if it looks a little weird in black and white, lol. But I do have to agree with having Favre in a Vikings uniform…gotta go with Packers on cards like this!
