Panini Peek Preview Gallery: 2012-13 Totally Certified Basketball (8 Must-See Images)

In early November and following one season away, Totally Certified Basketball returns to the marketplace with a reloaded 2012-13 edition that should continue to elevate the status of a brand regarded by many collectors as the best new product of the year when it first launched during the 2010-11 season.

In early November and following one season away, Totally Certified Basketball returns to the marketplace with a reloaded 2012-13 edition that should continue to elevate the status of a brand regarded by many collectors as the best new product of the year when it first launched during the 2010-11 season.

Bolstered by a completely new — but every-bit-as-mesmerizing — micro-etched pattern, 2012-13 Totally Certified Basketball also will include the return of HRX Video Trading Cards, a rainbow array of the set’s popular Totally colored parallels and a Rookie Roll Call insert that includes autographs from members of the 2011 and 2012 NBA Draft classes.

Each six-pack box of 2012-13 Totally Certified Basketball — which includes a 300-card base with at least 75 Rookie Cards — will deliver six autograph or memorabilia cards (with at least three autographs guaranteed).

Some of the other preliminary highlights:

  • The return of Totally Green (numbered to 5) and Totally Black (numbered to 1) parallels to enchant high-end set-builders once again
  • A Rookie Roll Call autographed insert designed around the signature to enhance the set’s unique foil etching
  • The Totally Signatures insert featuring autographs from the game’s best players
  • The Totally Memorabilia insert that includes prime memorabilia and multi-colored parallels to present player collectors with a challenging chase

We’ll have much more on the return of Totally Certified in the coming weeks and months. But until then, enjoy this splendid first look at the product:

  1. I think you guys should have put a little bit more time on the base cards. Its way too plain…But the rest is nice! I would love to see how the rookie materials autos would look like though 🙂 But nice looking stuff!

  2. wow,i cant wait,Certified is the best product for me from Panini!

Last year Rasheed Wallace was in the Prime Set,so please Tracy try to get him in there for me again!

  3. Yes…yes……..yes……..Mmmhmmmmm…….Ok…………and YES!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 A few small recommendations. I know these are only mockups, but hopefully the numbering will be in the same place. On the Irving you have it above the name, on the Blake it’s in the upper left corner, on the Durant it’s in the upper right corner (and on the Kobe), on the Knight it’s on the right hand side, and I don’t see numbering on the Paul (could be on the back since the front is silver as well). Secondly, keep the names and team names the same rather than changing them with the color of the card (unless it just looks horribly tacky). And this is a request though I don’t know how others would feel about this. If the RRC isn’t a sticker, could you make that area a darker grey, almost black, and have them sign in silver marker? Or, maybe get black stickers and have them sign in silver marker? 🙂 I just love the way Silver pops out on black. Thanks, can’t wait to get a hold of some of these.

  4. I think thats great that theres gonna be at least 3 autos per box! I truly believe it was the only thing missing in last years product! On top of that u got my boy Durant on the cover is the way to go! Cant wait till Nov to sink my teeth in to it!!

  5. Thrilled with the per box value. The base cards are a bit pedestrian looking, but the auto/memorabilia cards absolutely pop. Looking forward to the product!!

  6. Great stuff! really like the Totally Certified…its TOTALLY awesome! And its great value in terms of hit per box and value for what you pay. The cards look great and the autos and jerseys Bazinga right off the card.

  7. The parallels look very very nice but they make the base pale in comparison. My suggestion would be a slightly darker grey to the side of the base in the curved area like the parallels have.
The Rookie Roll Call looks like it’s from a mid 2000’s set, which I actually like. It’s a bit retro but makes the set stand out amongst the product which is a good thing.

The only thing I don’t like about the product preview is the name Totally Signatures, it sounds terrible and is bad use of grammar. It should be Totally Signed.

Overall though the product looks nice and will no doubt capture the attention much like last years release.
