Panini Unwrapped World-Premiere Video: 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (with Contest)

Late yesterday evening, mere minutes after we received the Panini America marketing allotment of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball boxes, Tracy Hackler and Keith Hower expeditiously commandeered the main conference room to film the following episode of Panini Unwrapped.
The dynamic — or is that “drab?” — duo ripped through one box of Prizm to give collectors an idea of what to expect from one of the most anticipated product launches of the season. But Hackler and Hower left two boxes unopened, and also brought along some of the hits from the teaser gallery posted yesterday — all of which will be awarded as prizes as part of a special contest that accompanies this special video.
After you’ve watched the video, stay tuned and we’ll tell you how you can be eligible to win these fantastic prizes.

Now, to the contest. We’ve got another sweet-card scavenger hunt that should keep you busy and entertained for the foreseeable future. We’ve significantly reduced the size of the image at the top of this post and hidden it into a card image included in one of the two galleries linked below.
Teaser Gallery: Panini America Breaks First Box of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (Checklist)
The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (96 New Pics)
To be eligible to win a box of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball, or some of the sweet hits from the teaser gallery, your task is to find the card image with the hidden logo and provide the name of that image as a comment to THIS POST by 12 p.m. (CST) Friday afternoon, November 30.
Got it? Enjoy the video, enjoy the contest and happy hunting.

  25. Wow that was the hardest scavenger hunt I have ever participated in but I still found it:)
The answer is: Panini America 2012-13 Prizm Basketball QC 39 of Chris Paul in the USA insert card. Thanks again Tracy & the guys who made this fun scavenger hunt-

  26. Panini America 2012-2013 Prizm Basketball QC 39 of Chris Paul is the picture with the hidden logo!!! Thanks for the contest and sharp looking cards!!

  27. I’ve looked through every image twice and I can’t find it. What image are we talking about? The one with the “Panini Unwrapped” on it?

  28. The chris paul USA basketball card in “The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (96 New Pics)” between the kim enlgish card and Vlade Divac autograph
    Thanks panini

  29. CP3 Prizm USA image #39 crooked one with glare. damn you guys making it hard!! my COD K/D ratio dropped looking for that thing. Anthony Davis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. This one was a lot harder to find. I had to scroll threw the pictures a bunch of times but that’s good because I didn’t want it to be easy. I found the other pic from the first contest in about 1 minute, this one took about 30 minutes. Thanks for the challenge and hopefully I actually win this time because I’m salivating over PRIZM with a Z
    Keep up the good work.

  31. Just a follow up after reading rules again. It’s in Panini America 2012-13 Prizm Basketball QC 39, Chris Paul Team USA

  32. This ones a little harder, and I may be seeing things but great job on Prizm with a Z. I cant wait to pick some up. Thanks guys

  33. Wow you guys hid that one really well. But I tracked it down it is in Panini America 2012-13 Prizm Basketball QC 39 The USA Basketball card of Chris Paul. Yet another great product and another great contest.

  34. At the time I am writing this (I am traveling the next few days and may not be able to log on before the end of the contest), there is no name under the cards on the 2nd gallery, so I will just name the card: Chris Paul USA Basketball card.
panini-america-2012-13-prizm-basketball-qc-391.jpg comes up when I click on the image in the gallery pic to make it full size
and the-panini-america-quality-control-gallery-2012-13-prizm-basketball-96-new-pics/#jp-carousel-36689 comes up when it is part of the carousel in the web address.
    Hopefully one of these works.
Thanks for another great contest and well hidden this time!!

    1. Hi Tracy, for some reason for me there is no names showing up under the cards in the gallery, I have tried restarting my browsers, the computer, but to no avail 🙁 how should I go about submitting the entry? Any help is much appreciated! -Thanks

  35. i think your in the kenneth farried card in pack 20 in the teaser gallery, but i might be going crazy ive been trying to find it for a couple hours now lol. Love the product

  36. Thanks for another great Panini Unwrapped and what an amazing pull of an Anthony Davis auto in the teaser! The hidden image is located in the Quality Control Gallery in Image 58, which is next to Kim English and before Vlade Divac. Though there isn’t a title in the image itself, it is the Chris Paul USA Basketball Prizms card.

  37. First I want to say I love the videos, secondly, how significantly smaller is the image. like a spec on the card, or somewhat see-able?

  38. Good luck everyone!
Thanks Panini for always giving back to the Hobby world.
Tracy I love that you always give a great and unique name for Keith.
It reminds me of the TV show Psych…

  39. Chris Paul!
Beautiful cards, great contest! My fingers are crossed to get my hands on a box.
    Happy holidays. Thanks again!!
    -Jeff

  40. The name of the card with the hidden photo is Panini America 2012-2013 Prizm Basketball QC 39. Photo of the close up on the Prizm Chris Paul Team USA card. Can’t wait to get my hands on this set!!

  41. Unrelated topic – are you going to have any autos of Thabo Sefolosha in any of your products? He hasn’t had an auto card since 2008-09, yet he’s a fan favorite…

      1. Thanks for the response. I assume you’re waiting on the return of stickers? Will he have anything hard-signed?

  42. The scavenger hunt was hard but well worth it for prizm:) The answer is: Panini America Prizm QC 39 of Chris Paul in the USA insert card. Thanks again for the generous giveaway:)

  43. Hi Tracy, If I have correctly understood the rules, I have to post here the description of the card which holds the minuscole image seen on the top. But this way, all of the following posts will simply copy the solution ? By the way, the image is hidden in the bottom of the Chris Paul USA Basketball card, in the quality control gallery. Thank you very much for the chance.

    1. since there are 2 Chris Paul USA Basketball cards, I mean the second one, the non-straight photo. Thanks

  44. Chris Paul USA card from The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (96 New Pics) at the bottom of the picture.

  45. Hi Tracy, I already see a problem regarding product names. This series is called Prizm, but the 2 special cards in a box is also called “Prizms” It’s like calling Topps Chrome Refractors “Chromes” So on eBay everyone is referring the special Prizms as Refractors to differeciate Prizm base cards vs special Prizm cards. I hope you see the confusion it causes the collectors when we buy online. I know legally you can’t use the name “refractor” but a different specialized name would make collecting them much easier. Thank you.

  46. This is the best product of basketball I have have ever seen by Panini. I hope they make prizm in baseball too

  47. Love the Prizm cards!! —–> Image: Panini America 2012-13 Prizm Basketball QC 39, bottom of the Chris Paul USA card

  48. Picture is in the second gallery, inserted in the Chris Paul’s team USA insert: Panini 2012-13 Prizm Basketball QC 39.
    Nice cards!

  49. Found it!
It is one of the pictures of the Quality Control Gallery (second link you provided), the Chris Paul Prizm USA Insert, the 4th to last picture of the entire album. Thanks!

  50. Oops, edit my last post. The picture is on the Chris Paul USA insert, but not the 4th to last picture in the album. It is somewhere near the middle of the album and the insert is pictured angled.

  51. My guess is the Chris Paul Team USA card in the 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (96 New Pics) gallery. The second photo of that card, not the first or the third one. Meaning the one in between Kim English & the signed Vlade Divac card, NOT the one in between the back of Draymond Green & the signed Brad Beal card. There appears to be something that just doesn’t fit right under where the glare on the photo is. The little image I’m seeing that doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the card is white, grey, and yellow. I finally got it to reload the image with the image name showing. The image is titled QC 39.

  52. Entry for contest:
The picture with the image is of the Prizm card of Chris Paul in the Quality Control Gallery. On the post it is on the right column right under the Jeremy Lamb auto and right above the Steve Nash card. It is Chris Paul in his USA Basketball olympics jersey #13. The image is right next to the white reflection.
Hopefully this is enough! Sorry that the names still don’t load, thanks for your help Tracy and for the contest!

  53. Finally found it! Can’t see the captions so…it’s the Chris Paul Team USA card. Card is angled with a chunk of glare.

  54. first time commenter and now a very recent un-retired collector! is it on the USA Basketball Chris Paul card on the bottom?

  55. Its a USA basketball card,he looks to be attempting a lay up, bottom right coner, has glare on the buttom left side, #13 and played at Wake Forest

  56. It is the Chris Paul USA Basketball team card that is diagonal with the big glare on it. Thanks Panini for the great contests i love them.

  57. Alas I am admitting defeat. You guys stumped me. I’ve been thru both posts 4 times and either I’m not looking for the right image, I’m in the wrong place, or my eyes are failing me in my old age. I’d go with #3 Anyway I hope you can consider the effort. I cant go thru all those again or im going to go crosseyed..Either way I got a great look at all those cards..better luck next time

  58. A+ to Panini for Prizm. Job well done! Love this product!! Nice price point, plenty of rookies, the card technology rocks, and the golds are GORGEOUS!! Best Basketball product you guys have made.

  59. my previous post answer was gone? anyways my answer is the USA BASKETBALL CARD of CHRIS PAUL where he is taking a right hand lay-up . the logo is near the reflection of the camera in the middle bottom of the card .. tnx sir panini products are awesome

  60. thank for doing a free box of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball u are so nice and its one of the best product of basketball and i hope i win it because i love this product so much the cards look so cool and nice and i really like the auto too hope i win 🙂 just saying am i in the contest?????????? good luck everyone and God Bless

  61. I couldnt find the title – but it’s a picture of Chris Paul in his Olympic team USA uniform. card is slanted and the reduced panini pic is located near the bottom right corner.

  62. First let me say, I am SUPER excited about all of the new cards available. I lost my entire card collection as a kid due to water damage. We didn’t have much money growing up, so I simply couldn’t afford to rebuild the collection. Now 20 years later, after having been disabled for 6 months due to a nasty knee injury that required multiple surgeries, I started collecting again since I had lots of time to lay around and twiddle my thumbs. I started on eBay and now that I can walk just visited my local card shop yesterday. He even had a few Black Friday packs left over that he gave me. I am so amazed at the jerseys, relics, autos, etc you can get nowadays. You had to be at a game or card show to even have a shot at an auto when I was younger. Anyhow, these cards look great! Keep up the good work. Also, the picture is hidden in the bottom right corner of the Chris Paul USA card that has the bad reflection on it. The card is in the Panini Quality control link and comes after the Kim English card and before the Vlade Divac autograph card.

  63. Tracy,
When and how will you announce the winner? This like many people have said in previous comments that it is the best basketball product I have ever seen! PERIOD!!! Great job guys!

  64. First things first: Thanks to everyone who took the time to participate in this scavenger hunt. We hope you all had a good time — even if this one was a little harder than normal. Also, as it would appear that the image name was not showing up for everyone, we included those entrants who clearly knew the right answer but didn’t have an image name to use in the random drawing for four winners.
Speaking of winners, congratulations to . . . Jason Gustafson, Thomas Auyeung, Mark Loftus and Jeffery. (We’ll be in touch to get your mailing addresses.)
If you didn’t win this time, don’t be too bothered. We’ll have another great contest soon.
Thanks again to everyone. Have a great weekend.

      1. WOOOOOOOO I can’t believe I won!!! This is such an exciting experience! Thanks so much for the opportunity Tracy, Keith, and Panini team! Like Jason said… I can’t wait! 🙂

    1. Just git the email..So excited, thanks so much for the contest..You guys are awesome.does this mean win a box of prism?
