Officials at Panini America recently released details for the upcoming 2011 Toronto Sportcard and Memorabilia Spring Expo (beginning April 29 at the Toronto International Centre) and once again will aim to please hockey collectors with a trademark wrapper redemption program.

Panini has developed a 13-card redemption set updating 2010-11 Donruss Hockey, including 10 Rated Rookies.

Collectors will receive a two-card pack for every FOUR 2010-11 Donruss Hockey hobby packs,  FOUR 2010-11 Pinnacle Hockey hobby packs or  ONE 2010-11 Crown Royale Hockey pack they open at the company’s booth.

Randomly inserted into packs will be limited-edition autographed versions of the base set.

Base versions of the set will have 500 cards each, while the short-prints will have 250 cards each; super short-prints will feature just 100 cards each.

  1. Nice to see Panini attending the Expo again! No basketball promos this year Scott? Last year was a lot of fun when busted a bunch of boxes and even got to participate in the box wars.

    1. Man I wanted to load my bag up with football and hoops, but stuck with just hockey on this one. Watch out Nov show, I have some nasty stuff planned!!!

      1. Awww no hoops – there are a lot of hoops heads here in Toronto too you know :). I’m pretty sure we busted all the 2010-11 Panini Prestige basketball boxes available at the show (there were none to be found by Friday night by the time I left).

I’ll still be dropping by your booth on Friday just to check out the awesome Panini team in action.

      2. I just picked up a couple of boxes of Donruss Hockey to take with me to the show. Sorry you won’t be able to make the trip, but I’m really looking forward to the redemption program. Any box wars happening this time around?

    1. Too bad about the ones #’d to 5…football and basketball were pretty cool too. I think I ended up opening about 2 cases of random hockey and football product. I think I cleared a lot of dealers out of football, needless to say I think the dealers were pretty happy with you guys. Is there a limit to how much you can open this time?
