To be sure, the batch of cards — freshly unearthed this week from the product’s first quality control case — was nothing short of mesmerizing.
Most collectors have high expectations for any Absolute Memorabilia release and this new edition, due out everywhere next week, will go a long way toward exceeding those with an arresting combination of content and design. Frankly, there’s a subtle beauty (yeah, I said it) hidden in the foil board of most every card I saw that seems to grow richer and more impactful with every take.
In fact, I opted to take photographs of many of the cards in the following gallery because simple scans just didn’t do the gems justice. Here, see what I mean . . .
Might want to get Quality Control to check the headline! Hint: *Momorabilia
Ooops! Thanks for the heads-up. Funny, though.
🙂
Ha, I know how it is, you type certain words so many times that you forget how to spell them.
I really like the design on the Wes Johnson card back. The big player picture looks good.
I think I’ll pass on that set Panini,.I’m waiting for 2010/2011 Classics baby!
Heck no, I’ll get both Absolute and Classics if they’re at retail, but complete checklists before they’re released would be nice.
Classic was where it was at last year. Great “Legends” on-card auto’s!!!
Always been a huge fan of the Star Gazing insert series, they remind me of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Hey can you get this stuff retail?
Mark, this bad boy is hobby only.
Dang, the football was retail. Well, are Classics retail then?
Yes, Classics Basketball will have a retail component.
O.O i want absolute! but its a lot of money for a pack… might have to skip… unless i save 🙂
I love that Wes Johnson card on the top of the post. He looks so much like one of my son’s little biuddies it’s crazy.
Great looking cards looking forward to busting plenty of this like i did last year.
Was hoping the sticker autos may have been gone this year seeing as this is one of your higher end/better products, but i assume the kobes and durants will be on card?
Looking forward to gold standard as well
