Redskins QB Robert Griffin III Wins Week 4 2012 Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week
Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Quarterback Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins is the Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week for games played from September 27 to October 1, the NFL announced today. In Week 4, Griffin completed 26-of-35 passes for 323 yards and rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown. He also engineered a game-winning field goal drive in the final minute as the Redskins defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 24-22.
Griffin was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com. The other finalists were running back Brandon Bolden of the New England Patriots, linebacker Vontaze Burfict of the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Ryan Tannehill of the Miami Dolphins and kicker Greg Zuerlein of the St. Louis Rams.
After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January. The Pepsi MAX NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the second annual “NFL Honors” awards show in New Orleans on Saturday, February 2, the night before Super Bowl XLVII.
