As monumental as it may have seemed at the time, Panini America’s announcement last week that the fabled Diamond Kings brand would be making a triumphant return to baseball after a decade away may have obscured even bigger news. Indeed, not only is Diamond Kings returning, but baseball’s most powerful diamond king is, too. Babe Ruth is back.
For the first time since 2005, the Great Bambino will have trading cards in a Panini America product. Base cards. Minis. A cut autograph. Epic memorabilia cards. In late April, the Sultan of Swat will become the Sultan of Swatch.
In the must-see gallery that follows, we showcase the resplendent array of regal Ruths coming to 2015 Diamond Kings Baseball, including his base card, his Mini, his Red and Blue Framed Materials cards, his Framed Mini Materials card, his spectacular Diamond Cuts cut autograph, the Timeline Materials card he shares with fellow Yankees legend Lou Gehrig, and his Also Known As and Sluggers inserts.
Enjoy this Ruthian first look and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2015 Diamond Kings Baseball.
Oh my, oh my. Beautiful cards.
Glad you like them! Even in Italy, Babe Ruth is huge!
Truly amazing and will go great with my 2005 Absolute Ruth swatches! Keep up the super work! Diamond Kings were always a true favorite of mine!!!!
Amazing! You guys never cease to amaze me with all the amazing cards you put out. You have outdone yourselves here with Ruthian Cards! I just hope I can put my hands on some! And THIS is why I always say ” Panini Packs The Punch!”
Thanks Tracy!
Wow looks pretty rad Tracy! That olde school painted canvas feel looks great as it was in the past with Diamond Kings. It’s synonymous with this product. Can’t wait to break some of this product. Love seeing the Sultan of Swat! Are there other HOF cuts in this product besides the Bambino’s? Thanks as always Tracy.
Awesome looking cards Tracy. Took me a bit by surprise when details of this were released last week!
When can we expect a checklist? Looking forward to seeing what other pre-War players are in there!
Are those mini, standard tobacco-era sized ala A&G?
Reblogged this on Locating Frankenstein's Brain.
Let the chase begin, Yankees fan or not anyone opening packs of the new DK will be thrilled to find a Babe Ruth in the mix. Thanks Tracy!
Can they put a picture of the jersey/bat these items are from on the back of the cards?
