Signs of Immaculate: Peeking Newest Autos from 2012-13 Immaculate Basketball

No one will ever accuse Panini America Brand Director Karvin Cheung of being anything less than hands-on with his products. True story: Cheung spent so much time in the Panini America memorabilia vault cutting game-worn NBA jerseys for 2012-13 Immaculate Basketball that he earned the nickname "Karvin Scissorhands." (For the record, NHL Brand Manager Chris Barr did the same for 2012-13 Prime Hockey but was able to avoid a moniker to match.)

No one will ever accuse Panini America Brand Director Karvin Cheung of being anything less than hands-on with his products. True story: Cheung spent so much time in the Panini America memorabilia vault cutting game-worn NBA jerseys for 2012-13 Immaculate Basketball that he earned the nickname “Karvin Scissorhands.” (For the record, NHL Brand Manager Chris Barr did the same for 2012-13 Prime Hockey but was able to avoid a moniker to match.)

In any event, now that Cheung’s blade work for Immaculate is complete, lately he’s turned his attention to photographing examples of seemingly every on-card autograph that’s been returned for Immaculate to date. And a small selection of those images — just the tip of the iceberg, really — are detailed in the preview gallery that follows.

We’ll have much more Immaculate to preview in the coming weeks, but we wanted to pull the curtain back ever so slightly today for those anxious collectors who’ve been asking to see more of the product that follows Flawless to provide a fitting end to Panini America’s 2012-13 NBA collecting season.

Between a spectacular array of captivating autograph designs and the as-yet-unseen mammoth and mesmerizing memorabilia cards, Immaculate promises to wow and regale collectors. Enjoy the gallery, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance next week for additional coverage of Flawless as we count down to that product’s October 23 release date.

  1. This will be my first hi end basketball break
    Are there 13-14 rookies?
    Product looks stunning
    those logoman are amazing
    hope to land some mojos

    Thanks Karvin and Tracy,you rock

  2. I do really like the focus on primarily white background card stock. They make the patches, logos, and autos really stand out,

The gold sig on black, however, is equally visually attractive! That Walton gold auto looks great!!!

  3. I hope we will be forced to look through these beautiful cards even more carefully in the near future when we will be looking for some hidden images 😉

    1. Agreed, both look good but way too pricey heights for me! NT is about as high as I went for a case and now these are taking away from NT in my opinion….I wish, but can’t see spending that kind of money on cards

      1. Troy, If you liked NT, you are going to love Flawless and Immaculate singles. While most collectors can’t afford the price of one of these boxes, most collectors can afford to buy-in on a box/case break. And, most collectors can afford to buy at least one of these beautiful singles on eBay. Check out the analysis on my website (hit the green Charlie DiPietro). I believe one box of Flawless will give you nearly the same value as a case of National Treasures.

As for Flawless and Immaculate taking away form NT, that may or may not be true. Only time will tell. However, we are always asking the manufacturers to give us one better. Because of the success double rookie class and the demand for more Kyrie, Damian, and Anthony Davis, Panini gave us what we wanted. We thought it couldn’t get any better than NT and Panini found a way to make NBA cards even better, And, although Flawless and Immaculate are not rookie class dependent, because of the uniqueness of the double rookie class, these three (NT, Flawless, Immaculate) products should be/remain hugely successful.

  4. Suggestion for an insert and or auto theme. “Heritage”,”legacy”or “bloodlines”, gu,au of nba,ex nba playes .example the curry’s, klay nd michal, tim hardaway nd jr,roger mason nd jr.etc

  5. Wow, once again you guys show the right way to add game worn gear into a card. Amazing looking cards.

  6. Are there 2 different versions of the rpas /99? I only ask because there are 2 different logoman of the rcs a horizontal and a vertical so are their horizontal and vertical rpas of all the rc’s?

    1. the inscribed set logoman shown above is not purely rookie (will include veterans and hofers)… the other one is the rookie logoman set…

people forgot that immaculate will feature the logoman book. hopefully panini can show previews on this in the coming weeks 🙂

    2. There is one rookie card. The different logomans are two different cards.

The first logoman are the rookie logoman variations. The number on the back of the cards correspond with their rookie card numbers.

The second logoman are a logoman insert of retired, current and rookies. These are not variations of the rookie cards.

      Hope this helps! Happy Hunting!

  7. Since Paul George has some autos in for this product does that mean this week I’ll get my Turn Of The Century auto redemption from Elite sent out?
