BACKStephen Strasburg, Panini America Present Golden Glimpse at 2012 Prizm Baseball
While many Panini America officials were putting the finishing touches on another show-stealing appearance at the 2013 Industry Summit in Las Vegas on Wednesday, the company’s Baseball Acquisitions specialist, Tone Stakes, was busy in Arizona meeting with Panini America’s newest exclusive athlete: Washington Nationals superstar Stephen Strasburg.
On this particular day, Strasburg and Stakes were putting the finishing touches on what promise to be some of the most sough-after baseball cards on the market when they release next month: Strasburg’s on-card-signed USA Baseball gems slated to appear in April’s highly anticipated release of 2012 Prizm Baseball, an already-sold-out product that has generated intense industry-wide buzz since it was announced in late February.
When Strasburg finished his first signing with Panini America yesterday, he conducted a must-see exclusive interview with Stakes that will appear right here on The Knight’s Lance in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, back at the office yesterday, Production Manager Jeremy Johnson was on the receiving end of some extremely precious cargo: Uncut sheets fresh from the Panini America printing facility showcasing 2012 Prizm Baseball’s spectacular Gold Prizm and Black Finite Prizm inclusions.
Johnson was nice enough to provide the following images from his time spent scrutinizing the sheets, providing visual evidence of a juggernaut product in the making that certainly justifies all of the hype.
