The good news for many of those same collectors is that Panini America is bringing the popular insert back for a repeat run in 2011, complete with an updated design, a new checklist and several new autograph subjects. We preview 20 of the new cards in the gallery below.
Enjoy this exclusive sneak peek at 20 of the 25 cards in the set and don’t worry about the early process typos on some of the cards. Those will be corrected by the time packout rolls around. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates on all that 2011 Playoff Contenders Football has to offer.
WOW! I have decided to go for this set again this year.
Really like the new names in the set, and the black and white photos!
Cant wait to complete it!
Awesome, Brandon. Glad to hear it.
Great way to start NFL Sunday with a preview 🙂
btw, noticed an “early typo” in the title 😉 CoNtenders
Thanks for the heads-up on the typo, gentlemen. I got it fixed.
Maybe Tebow will have a card in the 2012 set! What a game it’s been so far!
Any Romanowski’s? For a guy who started 5 Super Bowls…winning four, he isn’t in many Super Bowl themed sets.
Otherwise, pretty cool set. But check your spelling in the title.
Fantastic looking set, I will definitely be going after one of those Mackey cards!
Wow! Really want that Ahmad Bradshaw from the best Super Bowl game ever played. Sweet looking set. love the look. They would look great in a binder or put into a card plaque to be hung on the wall as a set.
Nice job Panini! I loved last years Super Bowl insert and this years looks even better. I can only hope i will be able to pull one of them especially that Aaron Rodgers one with the auto!!
oh man these are nice. Love the photos.
Will Branch be included in this year’s set?
I don’t think he was on the original checklist.
Topps created a SuperBowl ticket, both Auto’d and unauto’d, for Topps Football. The insert was so well-received, Topps threw an entire “Ticket” based product at collectors to see if it stuck. It didn’t. I like the look of these cards much more, and autographed versions from games of yore? Sweet. Totally sweet. Would love to see a sub-series encompassing players on both ends of seminal SuperBowl plays, Montana & Clark, Bradshaw & Harris, Eli & Tyree, jeez I could go on. Cool insert, nutha’ strong selling point for Contenders!
