According to results from the recently completed 2011 Vegas Industry Summit Retailer Survey released Monday evening, Panini America remains the “clear leader” among primary trading card manufacturers in the areas of customer service, product quality and meeting ship dates.

The survey — conducted by the Isaacson Media Group from Jan. 7-14, 2011 — included participation from more than 150 brick-and-mortar hobby shops in the United States and Canada.

Shop owners were asked to assess, on a four-point scale, each major manufacturer’s annual performance in the areas of customer service, product quality, innovation and shipping efficiency.

Panini America’s final overall score of 2.7 was well ahead of both Topps (2.25) and Upper Deck (2.21).

The standout performance marked the second time in as many years that Panini America — strengthened by top scores in three of the four categories (customer service, product quality and shipping efficiency) — finished first overall in the annual Industry Summit survey.

The 2011 Collectibles Industry Summit will take place from March 20-23, 2011, in Las Vegas.

  1. I don’t know if Shop Owners are really the people you’d want answering this survey. It’s unfortunate that internet polls, etc. are notoriously crappy, because the online community would make for a great sample size.

If only there was a way to take a poll without all the stupid motives (ie. I will forever hate Panini because they replaced my redemption with something that I decided wasn’t as good,) it’d make for a great snapshot.

  2. Although I do love a few panini products…like absolute/contenders (and this plates and patches is looking amazing)….i think panini has put design quality by the wayside this year. Upper Deck is out of the picture…I dont want to have panini loyalty because its my only option..i want it because the card design is amazing. Please PLEASE if anyone of importance is reading this…get rid of the random floating swatch and please include parallels that dont look like something is missing (i.e. an autograph). Panini has the opportunity to do something great besides customer service (which is outstanding IMO).

  3. You can’t deny that Panini leads the way in quality and reliablitiy. When you open a box of Panini you get what you are supposed to, and honestly it’s not uncommon that you get more.

  4. Can I get an update on the 2009 Certified Matthew Stafford jersey auto #’d to /10 that I sent into Panini in early december? So far I haven’t heard anything. I love Panini products, Topps and UD are dead to me. I have like 8 sets Im doing this year, all from Panini. I think panini is doing a great job. Obviously there is room for improvement, but no matter what, someone will find something to complain about. Keep it up panini, your doing just fine.
