Teaser Gallery: Panini America Breaks First Box of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (Checklist)

Sure, we could wait until our marketing allotment of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball arrives later today or early tomorrow morning to bring you the first look at one live box of the new NBA product from Panini America. But with a product as highly anticipated as Prizm, waiting just won't do. (Besides, we'll use those marketing boxes to bring you the world premiere episode of Panini Unwrapped).

Long story short: We managed to get our hands on one hot-off-the-presses 20-pack Prizm box (we won’t tell you exactly where we go it so as not to draw the ire of other departments around here who may find themselves one box short) and we wanted to share the contents of that box with you here on The Knight’s Lance ASAP before the product goes live tomorrow.

So, here goes — a pack-by-pack visual gallery of the first box of 2012-13 Prizm Basketball. Oh, and stay tuned after the images for a link to the complete product checklist. Enjoy . . .

And now, here’s the checklist: 2012-13 Prizm Basketball Checklist

  1. My favorite number is fourteen, so I wouldn’t mind clearing up some of your workspace by relieving you of pack 14 😉

  2. Im thinking I like my Certified better..but really cant see the pics very well so u should just probably send me a box so I can compare the 2 side by side lol;-) They look GREAT guys…as always:-)

  3. Awesome hit on the anthony davis! Great looking cards… The Kobe pack doesn’t really do it for me but everything else is just what the hobby has been missing.

  4. Awesome box!! The Anthony Davis was an awesome pull HUH. My favorites were the Shawn Kemp (Sonics forever),Robert Sacre, JJ Hickson, Jeremy Tyler, Martell Webster, Jose Calderon, Raja Bell and the Will Barton auto. So when you need to give those cards away you know how to reach me! Great job Panini.

  5. Love that Davis auto. Sick pull. Nice cards as well. Even the base cards and prizms are just as important as the hits. This looks like a winner to me. And a product i am very excited about

  6. Thanks Tracy for being so sneaky to give us a day head start of the the product of the year
    Panini Prizm!
And wow what a box you got Tracy.
We are definitely excited about the Prizm!
    Thank you!
    Salute!
    Peace!

  7. WOW… the preview box just happened to have an extra hit/prizm and also the top rookie auto! Talk about luck……………………………

  8. Wow looking good- Tracy does Prizm Basketball have any retail exclusive green prizms, or is that just in Prizm Football?

  9. The base sets 1-300 (in presell) are selling like hotcakes on eBay. I’m going to have to order more cases. Collector demand is very high. You guys really did hit a home run with this one. Wait… a 3-pointer.

  10. Beautiful cards….love the Prizm parallel cards! Do the autographed rookie cards have a Prizm parallel variant?
By nice pull on the Davis! Can’t wait to pick up all of my players from this set!
    Cheers
    Matt

  11. Wow PRIZM looks like it will exceed my expectations which was already high! I can’t wait to bust open some boxes this weekend!! Great job as always Panini!!!

  12. Nice hit on Mr. Davis!
I would probably be better off sending you guys my boxes since I can never manage to pull something heartStopping XD
I still remember the episode with Kobe when you pulled the Kobe auto next to him LOL
Thanks for the break, lookin forward to the unwrapped tmrw 🙂

  13. Wait so there will not be any Kawhi Leonard autographs in this set? That is kind of disappointing considering there are autographs of players who probably will not even play this season.

  14. Pack 5 please! Oh my bad, I thought this was another great contest by the great people of The Knights Lance who work for the great company Panini America, located in the great Country of The US of A….No?

  15. TOPPS has got to be shaking in their boots right now. Chrome won’t come close to this! Can’t wait to get a few boxes this week! Need to turn my dry streak around 😛

  16. Wow! Those look phenomenal! For once I don’t mind a sticker auto, they blend in great with the card. Is it safe to say the USA cards are sp? That could be a real nice set to put together. Are you guys planning on rolling out this style of card to football and hockey?

  17. I collect Gerald Henderson, game used cards, autos etc. I haven’t seen much new stuff, any chance he will be back in the production line-up?

      1. Will do! I’ve just about bought each different rookie card that I’ve seen. Still on the look out for 1 Letterman Auto to finish Henderson.
        Thanks!

  18. Hey Tracy, just busted the case of Prizm and had some pretty solid results. Highlights are 3 golds: Al Horford, Tony Wroten and Enes Kanter (excited about the Kanter!) Autos of Zeller, Meyers Leonard, Brandon Knight and MKG and a bunch of great rookie prizm parallels (gotta think of a better name for the parallels guys!!!) including Kobe! My question to you is, I only pulled 3/4 Anhtony Davis’ and MKG’s in the entire 12 box case. Are there short prints in this product, if so please advise where we can find them or please make a list soon!!! Thanks.
