The Panini America Marketing Team didn’t necessarily receive preferential treatment earlier today. But we did appreciate the Preferred treatment. Indeed, the marketing allotment of 2012-13 Preferred Basketball boxes arrived just a bit ago. Obviously, we couldn’t wait to rip a few of them open for preview purposes.

So I grabbed the first two boxes I could get my hands on and hastily ripped them open, with my trusty iPhone camera in hand to document the proceedings to give collectors a better idea of what boxes of Preferred might deliver when they release on Wednesday.

Each box of 2012-13 Preferred Basketball yields three on-card autographs and one multi-piece memorabilia booklet card. Boasting a vast new array of booklet possibilities and true Rookie Cards for the first time, the product offers a highly anticipated follow-up to last season’s sterling debut.

See what we mean by perusing the contents of the two boxes we opened, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of 2012-13 Preferred Basketball later this week.

    1. wow… really? I’m so surprised it went over so well. You must have hit some big cards from just a few boxes. I busted 3 cases and got mostly a whole lot of $5-$10 autos, in spite of paying about $50 per card.

  6. It’s finally here wooooooo! One of the anticipated products that I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait till I get my hands on some of these! Thanks for teasing us Tracy! yeyeye

  7. I am very excited about this product. Hope to get my hands onto some last year. Really missed out last year not having any to bust

  8. I only got to open 1 box of this last year because I was just starting to get into the hobby. I had a rough box last year but for some reason I feel lucky about this year! I LOVE the packaging yall did! The gold on the wrappers really make them pop and look wealthy. When you open the box you get a “hallelujah” singing voice in your head (atleast I do) just by how the packs are sitting and how they are placed!
My one big turn off would have to be how the booklet is displayed. I am a fan of booklets and Preferred is the one NBA product with booklets. I really wish you guys wrapped them up this go around. For the money spent on 3 cards and 1 booklet I really want to feel the feeling of maybe opening up something great and not knowing what I am going to get. But when you open the box the first thing you look at is which booklet you got. I think a jumbo pack for the booklet would have really made this a triple double if your talking about packaging and overall appeal. The cards look awesome and I am really looking forward to hopefully opening a box! — Thunder Up!

  9. I have to say you guys make some very nice cards, and love them. However for a company that makes well, why are the cards chipped???? For a high end product, your booklet that you show has a chip on the bottom, something that should seriously be looked at, for people who buy your cards. Just saying.
