With its Silhouettes, three-card Prizm bonus packs and across-the-board sampling of Titanium, Elite and other popular Panini America hockey brands, 2012-13 Rookie Anthology Hockey promises to be many things to many collectors. But perhaps most importantly, this time next week it will be live.

To be sure, there’s a little bit of something for everyone in Rookie Anthology, a product that delivers at least four autograph or memorabilia cards per 10-pack box and the history-making first opportunity to preview the sublime Prizm technology on NHL trading cards.

We’ve shown you some extended glimpses of the product right here on The Knight’s Lance in the last week or so. But today, we treat you to a pack-by-pack break of two randomly selected boxes to give you an idea of what to expect next week.

Enjoy the break and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance later today for a must-see Panini Unwrapped episode starring Reilly Smith of the Dallas Stars.

  1. This really is more “Panini Anthology” than Rookie Anthology! Awesome looking stuff! One quick question: was the base pack in box 2 missing it’s hit? It had an insert and hit less than box 1.

Love the Cup Contenders cards though!

  2. Looks great, but really….Travis Turnbull?? The guy played all of 3 games in a pro uniform, and is now playing in Germany I think.

  3. Love the product!! Expected more rookie cards since its called Rookie Anthology!! Love the prizm cards!! Hope to get a few box of it when it comes out here in Canada!!

  4. Pretty Stunning!! I really liked last years and this years is really nice too. Good job by the Panini hockey team!

  5. There are some awesome cards that you pulled. I love the Great Outdoors inserts, I am going to have to hunt down one of the Messier cards. You guys really did a great job on the Titanium relic cards, they are a perfect tribute to the old Pacific Titanium sets.

  6. Looks good from what I can see here, nice variety. I know a certain football star turned radio host (Boomer Esiason) who would love that Brad Richards! Thanks Tracy!

  7. Wow, I don’t even really collect hockey, but I might pick some of this up because it looks so awesome. Plus, I’m from Minnesota so deep down I sort of have to like Hockey.

  8. Great to see Jason Pominville in there. Those guys over at Upper Deck leaves him out of certain products, they have a hard time digesting that he was an All-Star last year and have only Koivu, Parise and Suter rivaling him in Minnesota. Heatley is on his way down.
