Teaser Gallery: Panini America Breaks Two Early Boxes of 2013-14 Contenders Hockey

Word on the street (and by street, we mean social media channels and our very own Product Development and Sales departments) is that 2013-14 Contenders Hockey is, well, loaded. Typically, "loaded" can be a hard-to-define term that tends to vary from collector to collector. But what we can report as it relates to the two random boxes we just opened for the purposes of this Teaser Gallery is this: We pulled nine total autograph cards (from boxes that promise "at least three" per) featuring a staggering 20 total signatures.

On average, that’s more than two autographs per card — an average helped immeasurably by pulling one card featuring eight autographs, another featuring four and another featuring two. Of course, these particular autograph pulls featured more than just quantity. They featured quality, too: Alex Ovechkin. Alex Galchenyuk. Seth Jones. Ryan Strome. The list goes on.

You can check it out for yourself in the gallery that follows. The already-sold-out 2013-14 Contenders Hockey releases to hobby shops nationwide tomorrow. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

  1. If that was my box they would hear me in Texas.( I do live quite far away in Northern Ontario.) Good job guys . Can’t wait. Maybe you should have a contest and maybe give away that Washington card to I don’t know the first person who suggests a contest or something.

  2. WOW Crazy loaded boxes! I ripped my first couple boxes of hockey this past week might have to do a few of these next! Hope every box produces a multi auto card in my case as well.

  3. Tracy,
That first box is unreal, if each box can pull have of that load it is incredible. I cannot wait to get my hands on some of that, this is definately worth the wait from all season.
Will you guys have contests this weekend to win Contenders boxes? I want as much of this as I can get. Or at the very least will that Galchenyuk be up for grabs some way?
    Thanks for an outstanding product.
    T

  4. So much great auto content in this product, that Oates is clearly the standout as it’s a veteran OCA. Excellent job with this year’s Contenders, thanks for the gallery Tracy!
