Release-week Monday around Panini America HQ always seems a little bit like Christmas morning because that’s usually the day that we receive our marketing allotment of boxes for a given product. So you can just imagine how much that excitement is intensified on double-release weeks like this one — with both 2012-13 Elite Series Basketball and 2013 Rookies & Stars Football hitting the hobby on Wednesday.

Before the big release day, it has become customary for The Knight’s Lance to rip open an early box — or three — of each new product to create a teaser gallery that gives collectors an early idea of what to expect from our newest releases. We’ll follow up later today with 2013 Rookies & Stars Football, but this particular tease belongs exclusively to 2012-13 Elite Series Basketball.

The newest brand in the Panini America NBA family includes a stunning base-set design, the sweet acetate Inscriptions autographs and upgraded versions of venerable Elite staples such as Passing the Torch AutographsAspirations and Status parallels, and so much more.

To help adequately prepare you for what awaits on Wednesday, we just ripped through three boxes of the product to take you card-by-card through 2012-13 Elite Series Basketball.

Enjoy.

  1. nice looking cards
    wish it was sold cheaper..
    will just join group break
and hope to get some mojos..
    can’t wait for FLAWLESS 🙂

  2. Cool! So many delicious mojos!
    Really Like Them!
    Are these available yet?!?!
Plenty of mojos to go around! Looking at these cards makes me want to bust!

  3. Nice, nice, nice, nice!
Did Anthony Morrow missed where to sign? 😀

You should post some similarly nice basketball card gallery tomorrow since it is one of our three national holidays tomorrow here in Hungary, and it would be nice way to celebrate with checking out some awesome Panini basketball cards! 😉

  4. Nice looking product, interesting choice to go with 1 pack on Elite. Gave an extra like to the Anthony Morrow auto pic, let’s help that one go viral everyone. Thanks Tracy!

  5. With a retail of around $160.00, I say pass. The cards are nice looking, but the auto’s are not numbered, and they generally spells real trouble in the re-sell market. 4 auto’s are nice, but opening a case to get one Kyrie auto (if you’re lucky) and it not be numbered, is just not worth it.

  6. I like the overall look of the cards. I also like the prismatic foil edging of the regular cards, although I could see dinging as a potential problem.

  7. Yes
I kind of didn’t like the product based on the sell sheet, but this stuff actually looks really nice.
Not sure if it will do well on the secondary market, but i’ll try a box if i get the chance to :]

  8. checklist? i mean in less then 24 hours this product will released and still no checklist?
thats the only negative thing i have to say about the Products.Collectors want to know what players they can expect in Products they buy.

  9. Sharp base cards and a very clean product. I love the shine as well. i believe for collectors like me, its a huge hit!
