Teaser Gallery: Panini America Busts Three Boxes of 2012-13 Prime Hockey (Checklist)

With the eagerly anticipated 2012-13 Prime Hockey now set to release in Canada tomorrow, we had to call an audible with this particular Panini America Teaser Gallery. Since the product won't go live in the states until next Wednesday, our boxes aren't slated to arrive at Panini America HQ until Monday morning -- and for this product, that simply wouldn't do.

With the eagerly anticipated 2012-13 Prime Hockey now set to release in Canada tomorrow, we had to call an audible with this particular Panini America Teaser Gallery. Since the product won’t go live in the states until next Wednesday, our boxes aren’t slated to arrive at Panini America HQ until Monday morning — and for this product, that simply wouldn’t do.

So first thing this morning, I sent a text to Stephanie Carlson — Panini America’s Vice President of Production who typically starts her day at the company printing facility — asking (OK, begging) her to procure three boxes of 2012-13 Prime Hockey for us while she was there. Being the saintly woman that she is, Carlson obliged.

What follows, then, are the simply fantastic results of that effort: A three-box roller-coaster romp through one of the most enjoyable NHL trading card releases imaginable. As you’ll see, 2012-13 Prime Hockey looks to be more than capable of living up to — and surpassing — what have become extremely high expectations.

After the pack-by-pack gallery, stick around for the complete product checklist. Oh, and check back with The Knight’s Lance later tonight to watch a must-see Prime episode of Panini Unwrapped. Until then, enjoy . . .

  1. Beautiful product! The Lucic is just ludicrous. When are game-worn playoff beards going to be making an appearance in a hockey product?

    1. I agree the Lucic card is nice and the rookie signature quads are a little nicer than last year but other than that, there is not any really great or better than last year. At least not in these 3 boxes.
Sorry but i will not be dropping coin for a case this year.

      1. They pulled some sick cards from those 3 boxes but of course a 3 box sample won’t show everything. I think with addition of skate and glove cards as well as the design of some of the newer cards they have upped that game with this years Prime. You should check out the other galleries and the checklist to get a real feel of everything in the product.

  2. Beautiful of course. Just what we have come to expect from the teasers.

Question about the Hawerchuk. Clearly a card from last year’s set, but was not included in last year’s boxes. I assume that he didn’t return the cards in time for last year’s packout. Will there be any others like that for us to look for in this year’s product?

  3. Just pored through the checklist – lots to love in there if you’re a Canadiens fan. Not many autographs for the Habs but the memorabilia cards are going to be packing a tremendous wallop. Great job guys, can’t wait to see it LIVE!

    1. Sorry all the Habs cards have been earmarked for me LOL. I was hoping to see some cards for the Gally’s in this but will have to wait for a later release on them I guess.

  4. What a cool looking product! Don’t collect hockey, but will try a box of that! Love what you do with the plates, should do that in all products!

  5. Great mix..attention to detail, I spy many secondary card chases! On Card auto’s, wicked jsy cuts, great designs

  6. One of the biggest hockey markets in Canada and you virtually ignore them…bare-bones checklist for Canucks’ fans. Looks like I save money much like I saved in Rookie Anthology.

  7. Hope you’ll have a contest to give away that 1/1 card at least, and maybe the Letang one too (big Pens fan), hehe.

    Otherwise, sick looking patch cards!

  8. Dang, woulda loved to hit that Kessel for the Leafs PC. Beautiful job with this product! Huge Dominion fan here so nice to have a crack at a few

  9. Loved Prime last year, but very disappointed to only see Ryan Callahan have 2 cards in the entire print run, and those are essentially 1/1’s each, they are 2 pieces of the Captain’s Cloth card…..
