The hype surrounding 2013-14 Gold Standard Basketball began in earnest over the weekend during a special Panini Roundtable Sneak Peek event that culminated Sunday with Orlando Magic rookie sensation Victor Oladipo helping Chuck’s Sports Cards with a live case break from the Panini America booth at the 2014 NBA All-Star Jam Session.

One day earlier inside the Panini America booth, Los Angeles Clippers superstar Blake Griffin helped fans and collectors open boxes of the product they’d won during weekend Box Wars contests. Now, that today’s national release date has arrived, we’ve got one more peek to sneak before hobby shops across North America start opening their doors.

This morning we ripped through three early boxes of 2014-14 Gold Standard Basketball for the following Teaser Gallery that takes you card by card through the experience. Each box delivers four autographs, one memorabilia card and at least one metal card.

  1. I saw box breaks of this year”s Gold Standard, and theses cards looks really cool, i think these looks better then the cards from last year. I saw metal card pulled what was black instead of the gold background, i watched a couple of breaks but i saw only one of those, are those some supper short print cards?
(The cards with the championship ring would look even better, if you put little diamond shaped glass, or something like that where the little diamonds are printed. [Or make a one of one with real diamonds])

  2. I like it yet again… keep it up with the gold standard. Most I know love the design and the ratio of hits in these packs every year.
