This time tomorrow, passionate football collectors across North America will get their first crack at 2014 Prestige Football when the longstanding hobby staple releases in hobby shops. But the Panini America Marketing team got its first crack at the product this morning by grabbing three boxes at random and ripping them open — feverishly.

Each hobby box of 2014 Prestige Football delivers three autographs, one Rookie Patch card and an oversized, microetched Rookie Draft Picks box-topper. Also randomly inserted across the production run are Panini America’s new-look Printing Plate 1/1s. It’s safe to say we beat the odds on those by pulling two total in our three boxes (which will make for some nice contest prizes soon).

As you’ll see in the Teaser Gallery that follows, 2014 Prestige Football offers an alluring array of microetched inserts, acetate inserts, Extra Points autograph and base-set parallels and more. Check it all out in the gallery that follows and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2014 Prestige Football.

  1. Lookin good overall. I like the color schemes on the base cards. Acetate cards always a plus.

Question-are there any auto or mem boxtoppers?

Heading to the card show this weekend to pick me up some Prestige!!

    1. Very disappointing. This was a fun set to build the last couple seasons, but I can’t buy it with airbrushed images in it.

  2. These should have been on card autographs if all they are is college airbrushed photos they should have been printed before rookie premiere and signed on card there.

  3. In 2012 I loved that both Prestige AND Score had photography from the Premiere. They had great designs and great content. They looked phenomenal. This year neither had them. I understand the Premiere was later due to the draft being in May, but c’mon. I’m a little bummed. Sammy Watkins’ base has a photoshopped image atleast eventhough his number is 00. Score, Hot Rookies and Prestige all feel the same to me.

  4. Agree with Score, Hot Rookies, and Prestige look the same, but Prestige has by some of the best inserts in football products. Panini and other manufactures need to stop overproducing products. It would have been perfectly fine to just have Score and Prestige as Panini football products so far. Way too many products that drop the value of cards.

  5. Could we also do away with printing plates and mem cards as actual hits? Its very disappointing to get one of those and know that you consider it one of my hits. Those cards just are not collectable anymore now that every company floods the market with them.
