Teaser Gallery: Panini America Cracks First Box of 2013 Score Football Hobby Jumbos

I just plowed through a sizable chunk of late-afternoon clock mining one massive box of Panini America's hot-off-the-presses 2013 Score Football Hobby Jumbos -- and I'm a better man and hobby marketing manager for the experience. When my 10th and final pack was opened and its contents revealed, I came up with four simple words to summarize my own thoughts on the product: Best. Score. Ever. Seriously.

I just plowed through a sizable chunk of late-afternoon clock mining one massive box of Panini America’s hot-off-the-presses 2013 Score Football Hobby Jumbos — and I’m a better man and hobby marketing manager for the experience. When my 10th and final pack was opened and its contents revealed, I came up with four simple words to summarize my own thoughts on the product: Best. Score. Ever. Seriously.

From juicy 50-card fat packs to impeccable photography to a landmark Rookie Card design to being completely redemption free, the first NFL-licensed trading card set of 2013 seems ready to rock the hobby — in a good, good way — like precious few season-openers ever have.

But I don’t expect you to merely take my word for it. I want you to take a look at the following gallery and come to your own conclusions. This particular box, which I grabbed blindly from the Panini America Marketing allotment that arrived late this afternoon, delivered four autographs (including a 1/1 Printing Plate of Buffalo Bills rookie receiver Marquise Goodwin and an Alfred Morris Inscriptions), a quality assortment of numbered, technologically advanced parallels and so much more.

I don’t know exactly what I was expecting from this box of 2013 Score Football Hobby Jumbos, but I was absolutely blown away by what it delivered. Take a look at the following pack-by-pack gallery and let me know if you agree.

  1. These are AMAZING! But drove 45 mins yesterday (2diff stores) to buy some and they weren’t out yet lol…so yeah…Think I’ll call first next time lol:-) LOVE the printing plate,:-)

    1. Hmmm . . . sorry to hear you had to drive all that way for nothing. Let me check with our sales folks and find out what’s up. When you do get it, I believe it will be worth the wait — and the drive.

      1. I know it will:-) Any of y’alls products are ALWAYS well worth the wait!:-) You guys have a great night Tracy!:-)

  2. ‘Skins fan that I am, I’d be VERY pleased with that box. Plus a printing plate auto? Can’t get much more potential value than that.

  3. score looks great this year…i truely love the 49ers cards….especially the Marcus Lattimore i would love my son to have his cards…(49ers future). great boxes guys

  4. all the stores in san Antonio and surrounding areas did not have it yestersay. and is Julio jones going to sign his stuff been a year plus we should be told.

  5. I keep hearing this products debut is this day or that day. Tracy, please let us know of the actual true release date for the hobby as well as the retail. I’m looking forward to getting 2013’s first draft pick, of which whom I feel will break all records; “Leon Sandcastle” LOL! I understand that the Sandcastle is a retail exclusive product. I would love to get my hands on that card.

  6. I am just blown away and agree with you Tracy this years Score is the best ever!! Its not just the extra hits but the photography, insert design and the parallels that ties this all together as a well rounded

  7. I would love any of those hits wow I would be amazed with that box, how come it doesn’t work like that when my hard earned money falls out of my pocket lol.. Thanks for the tease, nice hits!

  8. Such false advertising. Like you are ever going to get a 1/1 auto, and a 5/5 black border in a box of Score. Probably only going to see a box like that once in 2 cases. I do like the fact that they made score a little higher end of a product but show the boxes you opened before you got this one eh.

  9. Great looking cards Tracy! I usually pass on Score every year because the autos were hard to pull but this year looks like the best ever! I will be busting a few boxes this year! Great job!

  10. Very solid box. I might need you to start picking my own boxes lol. This years Score resembles 2009(Which is a good thing as I loved score inscriptions!) because there is all kinds of serial numbered parallels and autos you can hit in a box.

  11. I completely agree on your assumptions. It looks an excellent product. If I may ask, what % of the base set have you obtained with this box ? Thank you for the great presentation, Tracy.

  12. This stuff looks amazing, wow. I tried to find retail and struck out at 3 different stores yesterday, they are terrible for having that stuff out on time around here and I get attitude when I ask about it. Might have to start calling around to hobby shops in the state and make a road trip out of it. Thanks Tracy!

  13. Wow-intially I wasn’t planning on purchasing Score-but now, I think the tide is turning 😉 Keep up the great work Panini!
P.S. Tracy do you know how rare the inscriptions auto cards fall per jumbo box? Thanks again-

  14. I saw this post yesterday and stopped by the LCS and luckily bought the last JUMBO box! Awesome stuff guys! I love all of the numbered parallels, rookies, auto and mem cards! You guys have out done yourself! Happy 25th Anniversary to Score! (I Pulled a Drew Brees 1/6 Endzone and yes he’s my favorite QB! Woooooo!)

  15. I’ve opened a couple of boxes so far and I can assure you that the break in this blog-post is absolutely representative of what you will get with this product! I plan on buying more! I have a question though, some of the Hot Rookies seem to have an orange background like the ones in this post, but there also seems to be a team-color version as well. Is one more rare than the other?

  16. My son and I picked up our first 10 packs last night. His first of any football cards. He hit a Chris Johnson Franchise Fabrics game used! He’s definitely interested in the hobby now!
