  1. This was one of my favorite products to rip last year, but as someone who is primarily interested in set building, I was disappointed to have wasted time and money hunting down the short-printed Diamond Kings and Rated Rookies when the factory set was announced. Now a larger portion of the set is short printed (DKs, RRs, and the 1981s accounting for 95 out the 245 cards) and I’m really struggling with plunking down the cash for a box and hunting the SPs, when the possibility of a much cheaper factory set is out there.

    1. Exactly. The factory set wasn’t the problem, per se. It was the fact that the base set had SPs in the first place.

So naturally, they add even more SPs! It’s almost as though Panini doesn’t care if we are able to collect the set.

  2. It’s still early but just from that box I see more style and personality than Topps’ flagship. That Jr. and Bo Jackson look amazing. That Nolan Ryan is unfortunate, though.
