Teaser Gallery: Panini America Cracks Open Two Early Boxes of 2013 Elite Football

Although tomorrow's official release date for 2013 Elite Football is now just hours away, we literally just received our Marketing Allotment of boxes from the Panini America production facility about 30 minutes ago. So as has become custom here at The Knight's Lance, we grabbed the first two boxes we could get our hands on, expeditiously broke them open and captured the contents on camera for the purposes of the following teaser gallery.

Although tomorrow’s official release date for 2013 Elite Football is now just hours away, we literally just received our Marketing Allotment of boxes from the Panini America production facility about 30 minutes ago. So as has become custom here at The Knight’s Lance, we grabbed the first two boxes we could get our hands on, expeditiously broke them open and captured the contents on camera for the purposes of the following teaser gallery.

It’s our way of giving you a pack-by-pack idea of what to expect in any given product — and what you can expect from 2013 Elite Football is, well, one of the nicest editions of the venerable brand that we’ve seen in quite some time.

2013 Elite Football delivers a whole new rainbow of parallel possibilities in the Aspirations and Status sets, sweet technological twists in the Portraits and First & Goal inserts, and the always-popular Rookie Inscriptions on-acetate autographs.

The following images should provide a two-box, 40-pack appetizer until tomorrow, when you finally get the chance to grab some for yourself. Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for a must-see episode of Panini Unwrapped that includes one of our trademark Scavenger Hunts that will award five lucky collectors with boxes of 2013 Elite Football.

  1. Those PC are very cool idea.
    Awesome patch for sure.
    Nice color parallels.
    We dig it.

    1. Hey if were are using the birthday card mines july 29 hint hint Ill be glad to take all cowboys cards my way thx?

  2. freaking sweet bjoern werner rookie! that guy is going to be a beast for the colts! i cannot wait to see what he can do on the field for us!

  3. so, I misplaced that DeAndre Hopkins rookie card…thanks for finding it! Can I get it back now? If you send the Andre Johnson card with it I’m sure I can find it’s owner too!
Seriously, though, you guys are killing me. From Score to Prestige to Elite-my wife is going to kill me. Thanks, Panini!

  4. This was a very nice break! As is the case, I’m a fan of the Acetate Die-Cut cards. This years “Portraits” looks fantastic. Is the portrait done with the same technique as last years numbers were? I recall it utilized a laser.

  5. Thank you for the info! Panini continues to lead the sports card industry with new concepts, new techniques, and one of the best customer service departments! Lets not forget their fantastic cards as well.

  6. Like the look and good different inserts, best thing is the rookie cards have a set limit of production. No more base rookie cards and then huge amount of base rookie serial numbered cards. All rookie cards (base included) should have a set limit of production that’s either printed on the card or checklist. Try finishing a set with only 1000 base rookie cards of a player. That will bring back the value of base cards instead of them getting thrown out in my recycling. Fun chase when they become hard to get or find.

  7. I have been very surprised this hobby year. With the quality of this rookie class nothing close to previous rookie classes. I thought I would skip this year and keep buying previous rookie products. BUT Panini somehow did it and got me interested in this year’s hobby products. Opened the year up with the best Score product they have ever made, defiantly lifted that product’s value this year. And then kept on going with great inserts and card designs, less redemptions, and enough fun to keep on ripping with Prestige and Elite. And then add in the father’s day packs and still to come black friday packs and black boxes. Now only if prices can drop down so people can afford to buy more.
