Teaser Gallery: Panini America Cracks Two Boxes of 2013 National Treasures Football

For many hardcore football hobbyists, tomorrow is no mere Wednesday. It's National Treasures Football Release Day, a national collecting holiday of sorts when collectors across North America celebrate the return of one of the most storied high-end products in all of sports cards. After weeks of building anticipation (through galleries and a special sneak peek event in conjunction with the 2014 Industry Summit), 2013 National Treasures Football is officially now just hours away.

For many hardcore football hobbyists, tomorrow is no mere Wednesday. It’s National Treasures Football Release Day, a national collecting holiday of sorts when collectors across North America celebrate the return of one of the most storied high-end products in all of sports cards. After weeks of building anticipation (through galleries and a special sneak peek event in conjunction with the 2014 Industry Summit), 2013 National Treasures Football is officially now just hours away.

Earlier today, because we just couldn’t help ourselves, we grabbed two random boxes from the extremely limited Panini America marketing allotment and ripped them open to produce the following Teaser Gallery that takes you card by card through the unrivaled National Treasures experience.

Although each of the trademark sweet-smelling wooden boxes promised eight cards, we ended up with 20 total cards — including four base cards, seven memorabilia cards (including four numbered to 49 or less), five autographs numbered to 49 or less (including a triple-signed Pen Pals) and four autograph memorabilia cards (including one numbered to five and a must-see jaw-dropper numbered to only one).

You can experience the break for yourself in the gallery that follows. Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of 2013 National Treasures Football.

  1. i’m a brees collector…and i’ve seen TWO sick 1/1 patch autos of him pulled already…guess i won’t be pulling one. bummer!

  2. As a WVU alum that Tavon, Geno, and Bailey pen pals auto is drool worthy and then some. Nice job on the set it appears. Sweet patches and autos, and very nice and classy base cards.

  3. I just watched the vegas opening on you tube, I am hardcore(was) panini buyer have a case shipping out tomorrow for myself, but feels like I’m getting screwed. I see the value of cards per 1800 dollar case is roughly 600 bucks and you guys have now opened 3 boxes before anyone else, that’s bull.

  4. Ouch I would be irate if I got that first box. $450 price tag on this stuff-there should be a little more value there than this. Even the 1/1 Brees Auto in a product like this has a sticker auto! And I was so excited for this stuff…

  5. Just busted my first box EVER of this..Pretty awesome product., Cards are clean, great looking, and i hit a Captains Patch..which is awesome looking.
