Teaser Gallery: Panini America Cracks Two Early Boxes of 2013-14 Crusade Basketball

The Monday of any Panini America release week can be a fairly feverish time around these parts -- and when we've got two products releasing in the same week, well, things tend to be ratcheted up even higher. That's certainly the case this week as both 2014 Prizm Baseball and 2013-14 Crusade Basketball are set to go live on Wednesday. Earlier today we brought you a two-box Teaser Gallery featuring Prizm Baseball. Now, we're doing the same for Crusade.

The Monday of any Panini America release week can be a fairly feverish time around these parts — and when we’ve got two products releasing in the same week, well, things tend to be ratcheted up even higher. That’s certainly the case this week as both 2014 Prizm Baseball and 2013-14 Crusade Basketball are set to go live on Wednesday. Earlier today we brought you a two-box Teaser Gallery featuring Prizm Baseball. Now, we’re doing the same for Crusade.
This afternoon, we grabbed two random boxes of 2013-14 Crusade Basketball to bring you a pack-by-pack preview of the experience. As you’ll see in the gallery that follows, Crusade’s clean, white-tinted base cards and base inserts provide a stark contrast to the vaunted, vibrantly hued Crusade Prizm parallels that line each pack. The result is a fun, dynamic break that uniquely encompasses the game’s future stars, current greats and all-time legends.

Enjoy the preview and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2013-14 Crusade Basketball.

  1. Awesome product. But what product I like that is coming out soon is hockey #Anthology the previews I saw on Twitter were so freaking awesome. It was making me drool. I hope I can get into some breaks because I can’t buy a box for myself.

  2. A ny Chance that this product will be considered for football? I loved the Crusade insert that was in football.

  3. Did you guys get any of the randomly inserted white powder that seems to be popping up in this product?

  4. The orange crusades are great-looking cards with a nice die-cut scheme, but adding in more color parallels like every other product doesn’t help. What I liked about Crusade last year–a base set of only current players, autograph and jersey sets that anyone could complete, simplicity of the Crusade parallels, and a relative rarity on inserts(nobility, knight court, royalty) at only one per box–has been all but eliminated by doubling the base set with retired players, creating autograph sets with 58! base autos numbered to only 10 and more numbered to 25, multiplying the insert set insertion rate, adding in more unnecessary Crusade colors(teal and renumbering red to 249 instead of 99) and renumbering the greens to 5 instead of 25. Next year, please return this product to the core of what attracted people to it in the first place. The die-cut cards though…those are really nice.
