Super Bowl XLVII will present a sibling rivalry of epic proportions when Jim Harbaugh’s San Francisco 49ers battle John Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens for the right to achieve NFL immortality in New Orleans. In a game that promises to be rife with juicy story lines (hey, aren’t they all?), there’s one in particular that will pack special appeal for Panini America collectors: The special card set available exclusively at the company’s booth during the Super Bowl XLVII NFL Experience.

This year’s set, a beautifully designed 26-card effort that delivers a distinct Bourbon Street feel, will feature eight cards devoted to the NFC Champion 49ers, eight cards devoted to the AFC Champion Ravens and eight cards devoted to the hometown New Orleans Saints.

In addition, Panini America also has created two limited-edition patch cards — one honoring Super Bowl XLVII itself and another commemorating Drew Brees’ MVP performance in the Saints’ Super Bowl XLIV triumph over the Indianapolis Colts.

We’ll preview them all right here on The Knight’s Lance in the near future, but today’s gallery belongs to the cards featuring stars from the the 49ers and Ravens. Stay tuned for additional sneak peeks — as well as complete details on how to obtain this special set.

  1. Nice looking cards. I don’t agree with having Saints players included in this set though. Should just be Ravens and 49ers. It would have been very awesome to see every player included from these two teams.

    1. Been doing the set for years, host team always gets include. 2/3 of the fans that come thru the NFLX live in SB city. Next year Jets & Giants!

  2. no Ed reed? come on now,no rookies like Lamicheal James, or Bernard Pierce come on now and no Randy Moss, come on nowwww… But cards do look go tho.

  3. Just wondering how about a Justin Tucker card since hes a rookie, and the head coachs need a card, Harbaugh cards?!?!?! Also, are kickers gonna get a card this year like Tucker,Walsh,Legatron this year? Thank you.
