For all of the throwback brilliance permeating the upcoming release of Panini America’s 2011-12 Hoops Basketball, there is at least one very new inclusion sure to resonate with basketball card collectors around the globe: Jeremy Lin’s first trading card featuring him as a member of the New York Knicks.

To date, all of Lin’s 2010-11 rookie-season cards — seemingly every one of them scorching — feature the sudden NBA sensation with his former team, the Golden State Warriors. But that will change in a huge way when 2011-12 Hoops releases on February 29, packing the first standard trading cards and autographed cards of Lin dribbling up court in his blue Knicks jersey.

Lin’s timely inclusion will no doubt provide a huge boost in appeal and value to a product already buzzing with momentum. You’ve got to love stories like this. Two weeks ago, Lin’s first Knicks autograph card likely would’ve been met with a lukewarm reception. In two weeks, most folks will consider it the must-have card in the set.

Here’s your exclusive first look at Lin’s first Knicks cards. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional information.
