Tonight was the night. Starting at 9 p.m. CST on Panini America’s BlogTV channel, five months of intense anticipation began paying off for anxious collectors who’ve been waiting since the releases of 2011-12 Past & Present Basketball, 2011-12 Limited Basketball and 2011-12 Gold Standard Basketball to find out the identity of their 2011 NBA Draft Pick Autograph Redemptions.

The names of the 35 players featured on the 2011 NBA Draft Pick redemptions — card #’s XRCA through XRCII in each of the three aforementioned products — were already known prior to tonight’s live draft. It was exactly which card number would be assigned to which player that created such suspense in advance of tonight’s drawing held live on the Panini America BlogTV channel.

So at at 9 p.m. (CST) sharp, we began calling out the 35 players listed below one by one, beginning with the last player on the list (Lavoy Allen) and working in reverse order until we got all the way up to 2011 No. 1 overall pick Kyrie Irving. With each player, we reached into a box of sealed envelopes, grabbed one and opened it, revealing the card number for that particular player.

(Although each of the three products will share the same checklist, each product will have its own set of 35 on-card-signed XRCs limited to varying quantities but not numbered.)

The suspense, especially as we got toward the end of the checklist, was quite intense. Thanks to everyone who tuned in tonight for making our first-ever live checklist draft such a fun experience. In case you missed any of the excitement live on BlogTV or through our live Twitter updates, the complete checklist is provided below.

Thanks again. And stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates and first looks at the cards in the coming days and weeks.

  1. Will the Golden Future Autographs and the Golden Futures Metal be numbered? Are the Golden Futures Autographs on card or sticker autos? I hope on card!

  2. Will there be a livestream, or will you guys, be live on blogtv, to announce the redemptions? Also, is there a specific order, that you guys, will be going in? Thanks Tracy!

      1. Sweet, on card. Oh wait, Panini on card?? I’ll let my 2yr old son know that it should be ready by his 5th birthday, give him something to look forward to ya know?

      2. You have to read it before you delete it 🙂 Oh yeah, go ahead and check the forums and take a look at how collectors are taking the horrid news about Panini’s exclusive NBA extension.

      1. I’m curious as to what they look like… how many are printed. And really, when they’ll ship? I would’ve figured since they are not autographed, that they would’ve shipped awhile ago. Thanks!

      2. So that means after production, shipping to the player, shipping back to Panini, packaging, and mailing these cards won’t reach consumers hands until well into 2013? That doesn’t include any special processes like foil or special treatment these cards may receive once back from the players.

Come on, by the time we receive the cards the 2011-12 rookie class will be in the NBA almost TWO years.

        1. Any “special processes” will be done when the cards are printed in the next few days. The 2011s and 2012s should be finished and back here in the next few weeks. At that point, the 2012s will be sent to customers holding those redemptions. The 2011s will be expedited to the players for on-card autographs, returned here and fulfilled.

  3. don’t you think that the time we had to wait to find out who the redemptions were for, ya would of had all the autographs completed? It seems like that was more than enough time, to get the cards autographed!

  4. FINALLY!! This was one of the worst ideas. It totally devalued the box prices of limited and Gold Standard because customers hated getting 2 to 3 redemption cards per box and 1 you did not even know whom it was!!

      1. So how does that work? Is he card #5 in the 2012 set? I thought the 2012 set was the top 20 picks from the 2012 draft in order. Jonas was drafted in 2011.

        1. My apologies on that. Complete bust on my part. He was at the 2012 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot in August, so that threw me off. The NBA Product Development team put the checklists together. It looks like they chose not to make him one of the 35 guys on it. Again, my apologies for the confusion.

  5. Some have said A is for the top pick, B for the second and so on. Is this the case or is it random? Please say random.

  6. Im so pumped about the set! I actually pulled a redemption for the whole non auto set! When i first pulled it i didnt think much about it cause i thought that it was just a single card! Then i read it better and found it was the complete set! Cant wait to get my hands on it! I have on question for you Tracy i noticed the redemption card is worth a decent amount is it still worth that much after its been redeemed or no longer worth anything?

  7. Don’t listen to the haters great to see a positive spin on redemtions
15 years ago when you pulled a redemtion from a product it was exciting
Panini have bought that feeling back with these cards

  8. I have a bunch of these redemptions and I’m looking forward to finding out who I end up with.
A+ for the idea, C- on the execution…not numbered, and there’s no reason these cards couldn’t have been made/signed a month or two ago…especially for Limited with the 12-13 release just around the corner.

  9. What is the difference between a 2011 Draft Class Auto and a 2011 Draft Pick Auto? I have one each from Limited and Past and Present.

  10. i got shelvin mack, whoever that is, but im happy, im going to the toronto show, if cards are returned by then, can i pick it up then???

    1. We’ll have full previews of the cards soon. They’re being produced right now and should be done in the next few weeks. We’ll them expedite them to the players for on-card autographs. Redeem them as you normally would online.

  11. i got tristan thompson not too shabby. guys great idea!!! understandable due to the lock out last year. you guys def. have out done yourselves this year with the redemption process and the recent signing of luck!! man you guys are on fire! love you guys

  12. im so happy i picked up a bunch of these before the draft, i ended up with all the top rookies wooooooooooooooooooooooo

  13. I got an Irving: 2011 Panini Gold Standard (11-12)
    Golden Futures Autographs
    Card #15 ( / )
    2011 Draft Pick Auto XRCO
    No NBA Team
    FAN

  14. As mentioned, this was a great Idea. I wished I could have bought up some of them before the announcement. Love this type of redemption program. I have a Bismack coming.

  15. Tracy, the draft last night was awesome. As a collector and someone that helps my LCS with their website and social media, I always think “WWTH&PAD” What would Tracy Hackler & Panini America Do? This in my opinion was one cool experience you can hang your hat on. Keep it up and thanks for lessons in Customer Experience.

    1. You are far, far too kind, Ryan. That’s really high praise and we appreciate it greatly. It was a lot of fun to do and something we definitely will do again. As with most everything we do, the customers — like you and so many others — are the ones who make it sing.

So thank you guys (and gals).

      1. I hope when you do it next time, it doesn’t take a full year to get one of your Exclusives (KYRIE IRVING) to sign within a year or two – yay – another dual class this year, should be another fiasco

  16. Kinda sucks for me i only redeemed 1 of these redemptions and it was D the first one out if you had done Kyrie first I woulda got him and I am a Huge Duke fan.

  17. I really liked this years Limited, so when i got a few of the redemptions in i decided to try and get as many different possible. I ended up getting 34 different limited xrc’s out of 35 possible. But since i spend way to much on them, these last few weeks didnt really search for the missing one, i figured with 34 of 35 im locked in on all the good stuff.

Guess which xrc was the 35th that i was missing!
Yep XRCO, 34 limited xrc’s and no Kyrie, major bummer to say the least. Most people probably really enjoyed the live drawing, but for me it ended up with disaster and one depressing day.

But what am i whining about compared to what the people in the New York area are experiencing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by this horrible storm Sandy.

      1. Hi Tracy,
If there is a gallery of pictures of the cards ( supposedly available a month ago….????) when will they ship. Any chance we will see these 2011 cards sometime in 2014, maybe sooner?
        Merry Christmas to all

  18. No Jonas valanciunas & Donatas Montiejunas thanks Panini for wasting my money. Now they’re just signing now? I don’t know L. Allen, Johnson, Joseph, Jackson, Hamilton still in the league?

    1. I have to be honest, i like the way you did the drawing with nobody knowing who they will receive, but not having the product made and signed by players is just poor planning you have dropped the ball, most of the consumers that support your product sent these in 5 months ago and are really excited to have received there cards months ago, i have personally never waited so long for a redemption to be returned to me and will not waste my time on this product in the future, i am sure they are going to be great and wonderful cards when you finally get them sent to us but by then they will be old news and other brands will have had these players out and in there product and in the actual packs on release dates.

  19. I was lucky to pull TWO Kyrie Irving Auto Redemptions!! I want to redeem them, but I want to see what they look like first, on the comments above which were about a month ago, it said there would be a gallery of what they look like in about a months time. Do you have any pictures to show yet?

      1. Where are the pics??? I’ve accepted that we’ll have to wait. trying to forget about them and wait for the surprise in the mail. But would love to see some pics or a preview of what is to be expected!!!

      1. I’m still yet to receive Marshon Brooks in all 3. In limited i’m waiting on Isiah Thomas & Josh Harrelson & Gold standard waiting on Klay Thompson, Kemba Walker & Chris Singleton.

I got an update from you guy’s saying one of the above has been sent but still hasn’t arrived. Appreciate the fact that you have been sending them out separately.

As they say patience is a virtue, I think well worth the wait. My Kyrie has got to be one of my favs!

Hey Tracy any idea on how long for Kyrie HRX non auto?

  20. It been a year and a half and I am still waiting for my Limited XRCN – Kawhi Leonard and XRCY – Jimmy Butler. They have signed most of their cards but not the 2011 limited. How can they sign the 2012-13 limited and not 2011-12? The other redmeption has been signed as well such as Past & Present.
