The Panini America 2011 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Debut Interview: Mark Ingram

Mark Ingram delivered more than his share of chapters to the Alabama record book on his way to becoming one of the greatest running backs in the history of college football. Heck, his legendary 2009 season alone -- 1,658 yards, a 6.1 ypc average, 20 total touchdowns -- was worthy of a book all by itself.

Mark Ingram delivered more than his share of chapters to the Alabama record book on his way to becoming one of the greatest running backs in the history of college football. Heck, his legendary 2009 season alone — 1,658 yards, a 6.1 ypc average, 20 total touchdowns — was worthy of a book all by itself.

In addition to carrying the Crimson Tide to a National Title and winning the Heisman Trophy in 2009, the Herculean fire hydrant of a runner finished his college career with 3,261 rushing yards, good for third on Alabama’s all-time list, and 64 total touchdowns.

Last week, Ingram began a new chapter on his career when he was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the 28th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft. Panini America caught up with Ingram for a quick chat at the 2011 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Debut to discuss, among other things, his hobbies, collecting Pokemon cards and potentially losing his pinkie toe.
