Intriguing collecting possibilities abound in the upcoming 2012-13 Intrigue Basketball, the newest NBA trading card release from Panini America that arrives in hobby shops one week from today delivering three autographs and one memorabilia card per box, multiple tributes to the game’s greatest dunkers, autographed Rookie Cards of Damian Lillard and myriad micro-etched versions of the NBA’s top stars in the Intriguing Players chase.

Earlier this week, Panini America’s NBA Product Development team traveled across town to the company printing facility to scrutinize 2012-13 Intrigue Basketball as it came off the production line during the Quality Control process. Much of what they saw during that process is profiled in the gallery below.

2012-13 Intrigue Basketball features multiple autographed memorabilia inserts and a large percentage of on-card autographs. But perhaps one of the most unique aspects of the product is that every six-card Intrigue pack will include a bonus five-card Intriguing Players pack; the 200-card Intriguing Players set features 10 different cards (each with a different color image) and multiple micro-etched backgrounds of the game’s top 20 players. There are also gold versions numbered to just 10 and Platinum versions numbered to only one.

We’ll have plenty more to preview on 2012-13 Intrigue Basketball in the coming days right here on The Knight’s Lance. Until then, though, enjoy the eye candy . . .

  1. Holy Unstoppable Mojos!
    Panini Is On Fire!
May Need To Start Adding Warning Labels To Boxes!
    Panini Is Highly Addictive!
    Thanks Tracy!

  2. I’m liking the “Red White & Blue” and “Winning Ink” cards. I think it’s mainly due to the fact that all of the featured cards are hard-signed. I can see those gold “Intriguing Players” cards selling for big bucks on the secondary market.

  3. Holy Molly
Is that Ultra Medallion Platinum and Gold Style
I want to skip this product and join breaks of Flawless and Immaculate
but looking at the preview, might buy some box and join some breaks
I agree with PinoyKingJames, this is addicting
    That 1of1 looks nice…
    The Metallic cards look nice…
    Cant wait for the release…

  4. Thanks Tracy for the preview!
Love the gold and Platinum parallels!
Would love to see the idea that I suggested into consideration!
More power to Panini America’s success!
    Peace

  5. This product looks very nice, unfortunately there were just too many products like this for 12-13. I think next year we don’t need two Elite Series, 3 products with Prizm (Crusades can go) and keep this one. With Immaculate coming out I’m gonna skip this one even though it looks cool.

  6. This product looks GREAT! I am definetly buying a few boxes! This hobby is SO addicting and you guys at Panini make it that way by putting out Amazing products so much! Keep up the great work. I’m going to start working overtime so I can make enough money for Immaculate and Flawless and now Intrigue!
