The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012-13 Limited Hockey (57 Images)

While most of the sports world's collective gaze this week is fixed firmly upon New Orleans and the countdown to Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII, the Panini America hockey team is hard at work back in Dallas putting the finishing touches on 2012-13 Limited Hockey. Yesterday, NHL Brand Manager Chris Barr finished quality controlling the product and was nice enough to share some must-see images from the process.

While most of the sports world’s collective gaze this week is fixed firmly upon New Orleans and the countdown to Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVII, the Panini America hockey team is hard at work back in Dallas putting the finishing touches on 2012-13 Limited Hockey. 1. Looks great guys. Can’t wait to add more Private Signings to my set, and the die-cuts looks awesome. Few questions though. What’s the deal with the rookie redemptions? When are we looking at for a street date, and when will we see a checklist?

  2. These are gorgeous – the Limited Travels insert is a great idea, and the Trophy Winners (with what looks like an on-card auto!) remind me of the 10-11 Contenders, a set that I loved like sugar. Very, very nice.

  3. I really love the idea of the Limited Travels set. It’s a great concept that I would love to see in football as well. It’s a better way to use a player’s jersey swatches from a previous team, and It prevents having cards of a player pictured with his current team with a swatch from his previous team.

I would love to see a Board Members card with a piece of glass and the picture showing the actual hit the glass came from. Those would be must have cards with some real meaning behind them.

Will the Limited Duels have a left and right parallel of each player? It would make it easier for us to make up our own combinations if there is.

The Trophy Winners set is awesome. Hockey trophies have such great tradition, and I think it is a great way to show that.

Nice work all the way around. I look forward to seeing more of this product.

  4. Tracy,
It is so great to see any hockey previews, since the product is so limited this year. Is there going to be a Carey Price manufactured patch card like the Ryan Miller? I am a fan of the manufactured patch cards from Limited.
What is the rookie redemption for? Is that for a RC next year or is that somebody that has not signed yet for this years product?
    Thanks,
    T

  5. Awesome looking cards Tracy. Love the Jumbo jersey patches. I wonder when is it gonna be implemented on your Basketball products. C’mon man, give the hoops card collectors some love. 🙂

  6. Cards look great. I would like to see you guys get away from the signed fabric cards. I am afraid that in a few years, there will be a little blue spot on a card. Try gold or silver on a dark fabric.
