The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012-13 Prizm Basketball (96 New Pics)

Sure, I could consult my thesaurus -- again! -- in an effort to fetch more fancy adjectives that describe the near-indescribable allure of Panini America's 2012-13 Prizm Basketball. But the buildup to this point is such that the 96-card Quality Control gallery that follows really needs no introduction.

Sure, I could consult my thesaurus — again! — in an effort to fetch more fancy adjectives that describe the near-indescribable allure of Panini America’s 2012-13 Prizm Basketball. But the buildup to this point is such that the 96-card Quality Control gallery that follows really needs no introduction.
Most of the Prizm previews we’ve shared to date have come from photos taken of various uncut sheets. But today, we’re delivering the goods — 96 must-see images of the base cards, inserts, Prizms, Green Prizms, Gold Prizms and autographs that help make this one of the most exciting new releases of the season.

Is 2012-13 Prizm Basketball the most anticipated launch of the year? That’s a rhetorical question — but a fair one. And after you’ve perused the prismatic greatness that follows, we think we know how you’d answer that question.
Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates on Prizm before Wednesday’s official release date. But for now, go ahead and take the rest of the afternoon to enjoy this QC gallery. (Don’t worry about work, school or your other pressing tasks, we’ll write you an excuse letter.)

  1. Move over Topps Chrome…Panini Prizm is gonna rock the boat!
I don’t have many words for what I see in this gallery. Product looks good in the pic and I bet in hand its even better. Though these galleries are awesome..the pictures don’t show the greatness of a product til its in your hands.

  2. I am so pumped for PRIZM!!! I already have me and my daughters 5 boxes pre-ordered! Hey Tracy what is the next football release to come out, Absolute or Black? Either way I’m happy because they both look Amazing!!!

  3. Cool cards- Tracy do you know the odds on those green prizms? Just curious if I have a good shot at retail.

  4. nice shumppy auto thats what i like to see great looking product and design should be fun to bust
    any melo on card autos?

  5. First certified now prism wow…..when I don’t think it can get better it does! How do you top this one!!!! Amazing look to these beauties

  6. Tracy – what is the difference between the regular base cards and the ones with the player name written large across the middle of the card like the Malone and Nash?

  7. Like the complete look of the product. Without knowing what the parallels are numbered to but assuming varied quantities, this has a flash reminiscent of “Finest” from ’97-’99. It’s certainly more polished than that product ever was, but it has that feel to it. Every card, be it a numbered parallel, mem’ or auto card looks special…digging the high-shine buff appearance on the “refractor” looking cards, too!

  8. When is the release date? Because our LCS said its on DEc 5th.?
would definitely recommend and pick this up!
Group break would be really fun!
Thanks Tracy for another stunning gallery!

  9. I’m expecting this to be the product of the year!
What else is there to say but Thank you
Tracy Hacker and Keith Hower and The Panini Team!

    1. The date I’ve been told is 11/28. It was previously moved to 12/5 but then subsequently moved to 11/28. I’ll confirm again tomorrow but the last date I was given was 11/28. Sorry for the confusion.

      1. Thank you much, by the way, just received my Anthony Davis autographed card from Hoops set. I stopped collecting for a little over 10 years and recently got back into Basketball cards via Panini products. I got the redemption in my very first Panini box I purchased! That’s what got me back into collecting. So Thanks again, good to be back.

  10. hey tracy do you know when you guys will have any images of the auto kyrie irving in gold standard and the metal rookie ones thank you so much
