Over the course of the last several days, the Panini America NBA Product Development Team has transformed the company's printing facility into a bona fide hoops heaven. Between the pre-packout process for 2012-13 National Treasures Basketball and actually packing out 2012-13 Signatures Basketball, the team has no doubt handled -- with gloves on, I might add -- some of the most influential cards of the 2012-13 collecting season.

Over the course of the last several days, the Panini America NBA Product Development Team has transformed the company’s printing facility across town into a bona fide hoops heaven. Between the pre-packout process for 2012-13 National Treasures Basketball and actually packing out 2012-13 Signatures Basketball, the team has no doubt handled — with gloves on, I might add — some of the most influential cards of the entire 2012-13 collecting season.

We’ll have much more on National Treasures, which begins packing out later this week, in the coming days. Today, however, is dedicated to the debut edition of Signatures, a product that lives up to its name by delivering three autograph cards and one Chase card numbered to 25 or less in every four-card box.

While most of the cards in Signatures boast a rich, high-gloss finish and intricate foil enhancements, many collectors are likely to find the unique Film Slide cards to be the product’s most captivating inclusions. To be fair, though, there are quite a few cards with captivating potential — and many of them are detailed in the Quality Control Gallery that follows.

2012-13 Signatures Basketball goes live everywhere one week from tomorrow, and you can bet that we’ll have additional coverage of the product right here on The Knight’s Lance in the coming days. Until then, though, the following eye candy should be enough to sustain you.

Enjoy.

  1. Yes, I love those film cards! The on-card autos turned out really well. I like the Rodman and Dominique inserts where they’re breaking the vertical plane, too. Will there be a lot of redemptions in this product?

  2. Very Cool Design!
    Very Clean and Awe Inspiring!

  3. this is one of the best products release out there
cant wait to get my KD35 and Kyrie film cards
Cards are cool and clean, autos are very neat..
can’t wait to bust.. good job guys! can’t wait for National
    Treasures! I pre-ordered one case 🙂

  4. Why do you put players like Anthony Morrow in the set? I understand putting in no name rookies but veterans [like Morrow] is just annoying.

    1. there might be anthony morrow collectors out there who are dying to have his cards.. youll never know.. its not all about kobe, lebron, kd, kyrie all the time man..

  5. Yes Sean Elliot Super Pc!
KUDOS to the players that signed On card!
Love the new film edition set auto.
    Nice Design on that!

  6. I guess I am in the minority here, I do not like these cards at all.
The flmstrips are ok, but I just don’t like the design with the color photo at the bottom.
The sticker autos are hideous, the on cards look so much nicer.

  7. Those stickers look horrible. The designs aren’t bad, but on a clean looking card, who would think that a sticker auto would be the best way to go.

  8. Love the look of the first set when the autos are big and on-card. I understand you can’t get every player to sign on card, but that set would be amazing if you got rid of the sticker autos which just completely take away from the aesthetics of the card. Also, you know it’s a bad sign when in the preview images, 6 or 7 of the stickers autos have the signatures partially cut off.

Nice idea and with the players who signed on card this is a very nice set, but those stickers just look like they are floating on an island in that big signing area.

  9. This product would be top 3 of the season if you somehow could have gotten rid of the sticker autos…. I know you can’t get everyone to sign on card but man, those cards that are on card defiantly make this product look night and day different! It’s such a beautiful clean crisp card and that sticker just makes my stomach turn. Oh well, I will be going for the on cards 😛 I love the switch up of art work though! Very cool having all white then throwing in color bars of the player and stuff! Cool idea!
