The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012 Black Football (54 Must-See Images)

This week promises another hectic hobby heatwave to warm up your winter with the impending launches of 2012 Golden Age Baseball, 2012-13 Absolute Basketball and 2012 Black Football. It is that last product, 2012 Black Football, that has generated perhaps more pre-release buzz than any new product this season -- although it could be argued that Prizm Basketball takes that honor.

Panini America 2012 Black Friday Final QC (53)
In my more than two years here at Panini America, I’ve rarely seen a busier time as it relates to new product releases than right now. In the last few weeks alone, we’ve launched 2012-13 Prizm Basketball, 2012-13 Limited Basketball, 2012-13 Classics Signatures Hockey and 2012 Absolute Football.
This week promises another hectic hobby heatwave to warm up your winter with the impending launches of 2012 Golden Age Baseball, 2012-13 Absolute Basketball and 2012 Black Football. It is that last product, 2012 Black Football, that has generated perhaps more pre-release buzz than any new product this season — although it could be argued that Prizm Basketball takes that honor.

Regardless, Black Football is easily one of the most anticipated football launches in recent memory — and the following Quality Control gallery should shed ample light on exactly why. We recently shared a QC preview here on The Knight’s Lance, but that was merely an appetizer for what you’re about to see.
From the on-card, gold paint-pen-autographed Rookie Cards to the prime memorabilia options to the splendid designs, 2012 Black Football promises to be a blockbuster. Take a look for yourself and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates.

  1. Nice!
Those blue auto on gold looks really good.
The on card Gold autos really looks great with the themed black!
Another sure hit and there will be lots of movement in The hobby world!
The preview looks really good, so will be the Holidays!
    Happy Holidays everyone!

  2. Just a beautiful product. All of the cards look great in black.
But the most stunning of the gallery has to be the golden signed ones. wow Nothing like a card popping out at you

  3. Love the look and designs of these! So stoked for this release! In this gallery is the sweetest nick foles auto ive EVER seen! I need this for my pc, that card is flawless and beautiful! Honestly words aren’t enough to explain! Great job guys, Tracy and team I say this alot but.. You guys have outdone yourselves this time! Whats next, how can it get any better!! I know it will! Just speaks to the dedication you guys have to us as collectors and for that we thank you! Well done!

  4. It’s as if Darth Vader cuts these beauties with his menacing lightsaber forming these precious emeralds with BLACK ironed in them;)

  5. Why don’t you use pictures from the Pro Bowl when using swatches from that game, and do a different insert or parallel? The Ray Lewis double jersey doesn’t look right, and neither do any of the others from other products.

  6. Well Tracy you and your Panini team have really outdone yourselves this time!! These cards are OUTSTANDING! My daughters and I have been so excited for Black since we saw the first pics of it a few months ago on this site! It’s bittersweet it comes out the week before Christmas, because money’s been tight since I have spending ALOT of money on my girls for Christmas but HOPEFULLY somebody that loves me might buy me a few boxes for Christmas(Hint,Hint Mom if your reading this) LOL. You guys at Panini keep up the GREAT work and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all and your families!

  7. For some serious feedback..doesn’t look like they had much room to sign on the single auto patches..which I Guess these days many of them don’t need much room. Great cards!

  8. Hi Tracy,
Any books in this product? The cards look great. Props to the design team. I hope to get my hands on these Black Beauties. Cheers and Happy Hollidays to the Panini America Family!

    1. No books in this, but glad you like what you’ve seen. (We’ll have a whole library’s worth of books in 2012 Playbook Football). Appreciate the holiday well-wishes. Here’s hoping the same for you, man.

  9. Great looking cards you guys have designed. Products like this make me want to get back into collecting football. Hopefully the Raiders draft someone worth going after next year. God knows they will have a high enough draft pick to get someone worth collecting. Unless they trade it away for another useless old timer. Anyways, enough bashing my team, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours Tracy and to the rest of you guys and gals at Panini.

  10. Tracy,
Do you have Tannehill previews? Those gold and silver autos jump off the cards. Great looking product. Maybe some love for Tannehill, also will he be up for rookie of the week honors?
    Thanks,
    Travis
