And right behind that? The new-and-improved 2012 Elite Football with the triumphant reintroduction of acetate (see-through) card stock.

We brought you a massive first look at 2012 Score Football last week and followed it up Saturday with a peek at the set’s Rookie Card Flashback insert. Today, we bring you the coveted initial glimpses of 2012 Elite Football, which began shipping today and will be live in hobby shops next Wednesday.

Panini America’s Aik Tongtharadol and Carlos Torrez shared the following peeks from the just-completed Quality Control process for 2012 Elite Football, headlined by Rookie Cards of players in their NFL uniforms, the timeless Aspirations die-cut and Turn of the Century Autographs parallels and the acetate-accentuated Inscriptions and Hard Hats inserts.

Hey, did we mention the return of acetate? All kidding aside, enjoy this extended first look at 2012 Elite Football and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of the product as next week’s release date approaches.

  1. I really enjoyed looking through that gallery. Prestige’s design was so nice and clean and this set follows suite. Top-notch stuff there!!! Pretty exciting start for you guys at Panini. Well done.

  2. Tracy,
With the arrival of Elite means only 1 more month until the real fireworks: Rookies and Stars! Can’t wait guys for the best product of the year. Thanks for sprinkling in some Tannehill too on the images.

  3. My customers at Valley Sports Cards were very impressed with 2012 Prestige and I’m equally impressed and eager to share these photos with them. I’ll be posting all the shops hits on our Facebook page!

  4. Oooo Nice Kellen Moore! Sweet! There will be Moore in this set 🙂 Hope he is in Score too! This is going to be a great week for Panini football! 🙂

  5. Very nice! Nice to see that Ganaway will have a few autos throughout your 2012 products!
Looking for a big season from him with the JETS!!!

  6. Wow. Really, Elite was due for a reimagining if not overhaul. The tweaks; jerseys, autos and parallels are quite impressive. The gallery has got me feeling for my wallet.
What will the TOTC Autos be limited to? I’ve been assembling those sets since I purchased Tomlinson’s back upon it’s release.
    Thanks Hackler!

  7. Forgot to say…Love the Eli!!! And the design on the Hit List is superb! Please let the design team know that one. I love the faded look to the player and then the color shot. Amazing. Elite looks incredible from the outside of the box and deep with in packs!

    1. Yeah, those Hit List cards are just a fantastic design. Really love the multi-photo fronts. Rich looking. Kudos to the design squad.

  8. The cards are gorgeous especially the Aspirations and Throwbacks Jersey cards! But… it is heartbreaking to see your auto rookie cards come with STICKER autos, not on-card autos. For the brand to be truly “Elite”, please no sticker autos then this brand will be the best of the all!

    1. Agreed, the auto stickers on a premium brand such as Elite doesn’t feel right here. But the Rookie Inscriptions and Hard Hat cards look tremendous!

  9. Man you guys are too much haha Im just getting my pc stocked of the new Prestige, then Elite is coming fast!! Love the Green foil autos and the low numbered rookie stuff, they always hold nice value. Die cut cards look sharp also and the New Breed Jersey/Patch cards should be nice too, liked last years also. Nice work on the product, and I will be heading out next weekend to break some!!

  10. Elite looks much better this year as well. You guys have really been stepping it up in the design area and that is fantastic. Acetate cards, larger swatches, better die-cuts…great improvements.

  11. The 2012 cards look great. What is the chance of getting a list of the actual players who signed their 2010 Donruss rated rookies cards. There seems to be about 10 players who’s signed cards never turn up anywhere. The only two I know of for sure are Max Komar and Trent Williams.
