The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012 Prestige Football (68 Must-See Pics)

Maybe it's because 2012 Prestige Football is releasing about a month later than usual. Maybe it's because 2012 Prestige Football will include the industry's first licensed 2012 Rookie Cards of players in their NFL uniforms. And just maybe, it's because the young stars on those RCs constitute one of the most exciting, potential-packed football rookie crops in quite some time.

And just maybe, it’s because the young stars on those RCs constitute one of the most exciting, potential-packed football rookie crops in quite some time.

Whatever the reason, this much is certain: 2012 Prestige Football, live everywhere next Wednesday, is easily one of the most anticipated editions in the venerable brand’s 15-year existence.

Truth be told, there actually are seemingly countless reasons for all of the excitement — and we’re about to show you 68 more in the massive gallery that follows. The Panini America NFL Product Development spent much of the last few days at the company’s printing facility packing out and quality controlling the product, which includes, among other niceties . . .

  • An overall design face lift
  • Rookie Card variations
  • Popular inserts and parallels that have become Prestige staples
  • Mesmerizing Holokote insert variations
  • A healthy dose of rookie autographs (including many of the latter on-card) and the industry’s first usage of player-worn memorabilia used during the 2012 NFLPA Rookie Premiere.

You can get your first look at these and many of Prestige’s other arresting developments in the gallery that follows. And stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days for additional details on what just might be the greatest Prestige ever built.

  1. Love the gallery and new RC design, that Luck patch auto is jaw-dropping. One of my biggest issues in year’s past was the lack of photos in the pro uniforms so to see that changed this year is great. Can’t wait to see this on the shelves soon!

  2. Once again Panini you guys have left me speechless. This years Prestige appears to be the best one ever!!!! Love the Eli, Jacobs and Randall cards above 🙂

I buy this product every year, hopefully I can scrounge some money together for this years as well.

For me, esp this year, its about the rookie cards. And now that they are in NFL uni’s, a tremendous upgrade from last years, I really want them. The first NFL rookies on the market in their uni’s. Prestige always has so much to offer. I love the rookie variations, the autographed rookies, jerseys, prime pieces and I love the Xtra points (are they in 2012??).

Drooooooooooooooooollllllllllllllll Droooooooooooooooolllllllllll and More Droooooooooooooooolllllllllllll!!!!!!! Thanks for the gallery!

  3. LOVE the new design. Even the base cards look STELLAR!!! Do me a favor and add in some pics of Rodgers stuff for us Packers fans to drool over. Kudos do the designers, a fresh take on your traditional looking sets.

  4. I wasn’t planning on breaking any Prestige this year. Decided that 4 months ago. Was just going to start with Elite. Decision reversed. THIS is the best looking Prestige I have seen in years! Props to the product development team on putting a lot of time and effort into updating this program’s design. Kudos!

  5. This will actually be my first hobby box purchase ever (case actually) and I am so glad it was. This is a STELLAR looking card set. Thank you for the appetite whetting pics!

However as one minor nitpick, if you are going to publish 68 pics, try and get at least one from each team! We Chiefs, Packers, Vikings, Steelers, Jaguars, Saints and Raiders want to drool too!!!

But that is a minor quibble as it doesn’t matter once the packs are opened! Great job!

P.S. Question, will there be updated Peyton Hillis Chiefs cards? Maybe do a preview on some of the team change players!

    1. Good feedback, Jeremy. Really appreciate it and completely understand. I know most of the player that changed teams were included in their old uniforms with new team logos. I’ll see if I can track down some images.

      Thanks again,
      Tracy

  6. Tracy,
The Tannehill autos are awesome, I cannot wait wait for the first autos of him in his Dolphins uniform, this has been a long wait but well worth it.
    Thanks for pictures.

  7. Once again, Prestige looks great. Love some of the on-card content that it appears will be included. It’s a tough turnaround for players in their uniforms and on-card autos so I’m excited to see it in this product.

  8. I see me some Mo Claiborne in there!! Thats what Im talking about Panini!! Even in some Cowboy fresh gear 🙂 Loving life and will be sure to open a half case or so. Tracy do you know if Morris Claiborne signed any rookie cards in this product?

  9. very nice huge upgrade over last years in my opinion have two boxes ordered cant wait to bust them open hoping to hit a big rookie this year as last year i didnt get any of the big names… curious also is the checklist out yet hoping Austin Pettis has some cards this year

  10. Great looking cards this year!!! Im so glad you guys made sure you put the rookies in their NFL uniforms this year. Prestige looks like the BEST Prestige EVER!!! Keep up the great work as always Panini!!! You keep up the great work too Tracy!!!!
