If Tom Hanks taught us anything about America's pastime, it's that there's no crying in baseball. Of course, there's no real off-season in baseball, either -- which is why Panini America is making plans for a banner week on the diamond.

The collecting schedule this week boasts an absolutely dynamic double header of heavy-hitting baseball products from Panini America. 2012 Cooperstown Baseball, which we previewed with an extensive QC gallery last week, finally releases on Wednesday. One day later, 2012 Signature Series Baseball hits hobby shops across the country packing three autographs, one elegant design and tons of baseball star power in every box.

Panini America’s Ben Ecklar and Mike Payne were busy putting the finishing touches on the product during the Quality Control process last week. As you’ll see in the revealing gallery that follows, 2012 Signature Series Baseball has a little something for everyone — autographs from current MLBPA superstars, Hall of Famers and some of the coolest embroidered patch cards to date, highlighted by Rated Rookie and MLBPA logo versions.

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance later this week for a must-see episode of Panini Unwrapped starring 2012 Signature Series. But until then, enjoy this 56-image appetite-whetter . . .

  1. I love the look of this product! I think I’m going to be collecting the Proof set. Gold autos on the black backgrounds would’ve been a nice touch, but maybe we can see that another year.

  2. Super awesome- still have yet to score a Mike Trout auto… This set can help me overcome that challenge:) Great work Panini!

  3. Excellent looking cards, still not seeing that one signature I’ve been hoping for in a Panini product though 🙁 Thanks for the preview Tracy!
