Basketball’s favorite collecting crusade is on the verge of a triumphant reset — and this year, one of the hobby’s noblest, Prizm-infused pursuits is entering the die-cut realm. That’s something longtime Crusaders will pick up on immediately when Panini America’s 2013-14 Crusade Basketball releases one week from today. But there are other niceties to behold in the product as well.
From an assortment of ornate base and insert designs that seem to grow richer and more detailed the longer you look at them, to the still-stunning-after-all-these-years, Prizm-infused Crusade insert, which remains one of the most colorfully collectible chases in the hobby almost 20 years after it arrived. Panini America officials have added an intricate die-cut dimension to Crusade for 2013-14, a nice touch that can be seen in the expansive Quality Control Gallery that follows.

Each hobby box of 2013-14 Crusade Basketball delivers one autograph, one memorabilia card and 18 Crusade inserts. We’ll have plenty more to preview on the product in the coming days. But for now, sit back and enjoy this extended look at the product made possible by the recently completed packout process.

  1. On the parallelbase cards numbered to 25: any other difference besides the /25 printed on the upper right corner? A different backgroud color would be showing a nice difference.

  2. Love the crusade inserts! Wished those could be turned into a football product alone!
