The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2013-14 Playbook Hockey (117 Sweet Pics)
Thanks to the nimble Tweeting fingers of Panini America Hockey Brand Manager Chris Barr, last week’s packout for 2013-14 Playbook Hockey was largely — pardon the pun — an open book. Throughout the afternoon last Thursday, Barr took control of the Panini America Twitter account to provide real-time coverage of what he was seeing live from the floor of the production facility.
From some of the most spectacular booklet cards hockey’s ever seen to the continuation of Social Signatures to several stunning tributes to both #PaniniDoubleRookieClass and some of the greatest players of all time, Barr provided an international audience of collectors with something of a pack-by-pack Playbook breakdown. If you weren’t on Twitter last Thursday afternoon, well, here’s a little of what you might have missed:
Not a bad way to start with the first pack! #paninidoublerookieclass #playbookiscoming pic.twitter.com/mFwK3NxiKc

And the packout has restarted. No wonder they had to recalibrate. It’s hard fitting two booklets in a pack! pic.twitter.com/0Vh7i8Aa6F

But packout was far from over when Barr signed off the corporate account last Thursday. The process continued Friday, too. And in the gallery that follows, we bring you a comprehensive recap of the manifold greatness that surfaced throughout the painstaking packout and Quality Control processes. Enjoy the gallery, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of the history-making debut of Playbook Hockey, due out next Wednesday.
