That’s certainly the case with Panini America’s 2013-14 Preferred Basketball, which received rave reviews last week based on a jaw-dropping booklet preview gallery. Today we’re bringing you a more complete look at 2013-14 Preferred Basketball by featuring a cadre of specimens unearthed during the recent Quality Control process.

2013-14 Preferred Basketball stays true to its roots by delivering three autographs and one booklet card in every four-card box. The calling-card favorites that have come to define the product return, headlined by the spectacular Silhouettes and Rookie Silhouettes, Panini’s Choice Award Autographs, Preferred Signatures and die-cut Crown Autographs.

New additions to the autograph roster include the colorfully foiled Rookie Revolution and NBA Pride inserts. Clearly, though, the most unique aspect of Preferred Basketball is a checklist of bountiful booklets that has received a distinct upgrade for 2013-14 — beginning with the stunning NBA Finals booklets that feature game-worn jerseys from the 2013 NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. Each of those cards is game-dated on the back and details the respective player’s performance from the game the jersey was worn.

Other key additions to the memorabilia booklet roster include Jumbo booklets, One on One Rivalry and Two on Two Rivalry booklets, and Rookie Revolution booklets incorporating unique 360-degree photography from the 2013 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot.

It’s all on brilliant display in the gallery that follows. Enjoy the early look and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2013-14 Preferred Basketball.

  1. I’m amazed at some of the retired players that we are seeing autographs for in a high end product. Am I the only one that thinks Phil Chenier, Rory Sparrow, Will Purdue, Tyronn Lue shouldn’t be anywhere near this product?

Love the silhouettes and the books look improved this year, but that auto checklist has me chasing singles instead of a box.

  2. Any Portland Trailblazers books on the checklist, Tracy? Was disappointed there weren’t any the last two years

  3. Awesome looking booklets/cards..one day I will save enough to buy my boys a box or two each of this product.

  4. Preferred has always been one of the better releases IMO, but the Choice Award and Silo’s autos look to be the same rehash from the last couple releases. Crown Royal is much the same too. The booklets have a some new concepts in there, but similar designs again. Not sure it would be wise to keep doing the same designs over and over again… Just some feedback from an avid collector…
