Since the act of taking inventory of everything that’s cool about Panini America’s 2013 Cooperstown Baseball — a shining tribute to the greatest players and personalities in Hall of Fame history — would likely take up  most of your weekend, The Knight’s Lance is going to do it for you. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the show.

To be sure, Panini America’s history-soaked second Cooperstown release — a direct result of the company’s official partnership with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum — has a lot going for it. From Cracked Ice parallels and on-card autographs of baseball’s all-time greats to splendid archival photography, Cogan’s Disks, Heroes Buy-Back Autographs and colorized base-set SPs, 2013 Cooperstown Baseball has something to appeal to even the most demanding Hall of Fame aficionados.

The product releases in hobby shops everywhere next Wednesday, which means Panini America Baseball Brand Managers Mike Payne and Tim Trout spent some quality time earlier this week quality controlling the product at the company printing facility. The following gallery highlights the fruits of their production-line labor.

Most of what you’re about to see comes from the hobby version of the product, but we also provide an early look at the special retail Orange dot-matrix base-set parallels. Enjoy this extended first look at live cards from the product and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance early next week for additional coverage of 2013 Cooperstown Baseball.

  2. Wow, I like the look of these ones, love seeing the old school players and seeing all those hard signed autographs.

  3. I like the inclusion of the old Donruss Hall of Fame autos. Quick question though. Where those purchased off the secondary market or from the Baseball Hall of Fame gift shop or even perhaps from the old Donruss vaults?

  4. Wow, what you guys did with this product is truly amazing. Topps has the license and they haven’t even come close to something as collectible and original as this. Sign me up for this product the day it hits stores. The on-card autos are to die for-thanks for all the effort you guys put into this product. It won’t go unnoticed!

  5. Would love to see an NFL set like this. No manufacturer has been able to put out an NFL HOFer set that has every member.

  6. Beautiful, just beautiful! Those collectors who are “purists,” who don’t care for highly embellished inserts & parallels, will discover a product steeped in history, replete with on-card autos from HOF’ers living & deceased.
The Cool Papa Bell, Hank Greenberg & Ted Williams hard autos are legit’ hobby treasures & the stuff of hobby-chubbies. THack’, how many autos are in a box, bro?

  7. The cracked Ice cards look great from what i see from the picture. They must be stunning in person. The on card autos also look amazing with the BLUE ink!

  8. Love the Hall of Fame Heroes auto buybacks.

I collected all those quirky Donruss sets back in the day-Hall of Fame Heroes, Action All Stars, Season Highlights sets, Stand-ups, and even the french version Leaf cards in 1985 and 1986!

I especially loved putting the Hall of Fame Puzzles together once I had bought enough packs!

Great looking product from what I’ve see so far!!
