The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2013 Elite Football (Must-See Preview)

When a product packs as many exciting new developments as 2013 Elite Football does, it's hard to figure out where to start gushing. Do you begin with the laser-cut captivation found in the Portraits insert? Or perhaps you start with the vibrant new colors shining brightly in the landmark Status and Aspirations parallels. Or, just maybe, you talk about the uniqueness of the "Revolution" memorabilia-card concept at play in the First and Goal insert.

Or, just maybe, you talk about the uniqueness of the “Revolution” memorabilia-card concept at play in the First and Goal insert.

It’s a tough decision to be sure, but one we’re confident you can help us figure out by perusing the massive Quality Control Gallery that follows. Last week, in preparation for 2013 Elite Football’s release this Friday, Panini America’s Aik Tongtharadol and Joseph Mackey put the product through the paces during the packout process.

What they discovered was nothing short of fantastic, and much of what they discovered is also detailed below. After you’ve had the opportunity to adequately appreciate the more than 120 images that follow, tell us what part of 2013 Elite Football you like the most. And stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of the product later this week.

  1. I love these cards, I really like the Marcus Lattimore serial numbered cards! I am gonna start saving up!! Beautiful job guys!

  2. Nice!!!
    Always love die cuts!
PC yes excellent idea on it!!!
Nice mixtures with shiny parallels on it!

  3. Other than the base, I really like the look of this. The brown background and foil borders don’t go together at all.

  4. Finally DJ Hayden has arrived!! Awesome looking cards. Loving the hardhats again this year (even more so that they are not all wearing ’00’) but as mentioned above not a huge fan of the base set. I actually like the look of the top 40 rookies shown last week with the white border.

  5. Great design and a very provocative approach. My only regret is that this years draft class of 2013 is not as strong as the draft class of 2012!

  6. The acetate dicuts are FREAKIN SWEET (channeling my inner Peter Griffin) Also, those 1st (2nd, 3rd, and 4th) and goal cards are AWESOME. Love the new ideas you guys are putting out, but slow down! Don’t wanna run out of amazing ideas. lol

  7. Stellar gallery Tracy, I really like the First, Second, etc. and Goal series with the spinning mem swatch. Thanks as always!

  8. Wow! Super job Panini! I absolutely love the look of those aspirations. Honestly I would almost prefer pulling those than jersey cards or autos-Quick question though, are the goal line swatches from actual 2nd and 1st and goal holders and are they from any specific games? Thanks again-

  9. Man this set looks great!!! I really mean it, every insert series looks great and very clean!! Love the Hard Hat series and the Emerald numbered rookies look SWEET!! Can’t wait to watch some Pre Season and the first week and bust some of these boxes. Great job, send my best to Carlos and the football team!!

  10. Hey Tracy, quick question.

Is it just like last year with the “Rookie Inscriptions on-acetate autographs” cards that the “Personal Edition” only goes to the players? Or are you doing something different this year? Only reason I ask is because I see above both versions, some with and some without the “Personal Edition” text.

      1. Hey, Tracy. Really enjoying this year’s Elite. Any luck scaring up that list of the “Personal Edition” Iscriptions? How short-printed are these (or, more to the point, how many of each guy’s personal print run were inserted into the product)? Does it vary by player? I’m particularly interested in my boy Tyler Wilson.

Also, are there specific print runs associated with each different color ink on the Inscriptions?

Also also, need more Conner Vernon in Panini products. I fully expect him to have an RPA in 2013 NT (and I fully intend to acquire every last one of them).

        Keep up the great work!

        1. Glad you’re liking it, Bill. Appreciate the kind words. I’m planning to publish the complete Inscriptions breakdown in the next day or two, so stay tuned.

          Thanks again,
          Tracy

  11. I’m not trying to be disrespectful here, just offering my opinon/suggestion. I would like to see these numbered on card in the futre. As difficult as it is to figure out sp run now, imagine the chore for collectors to verify it say 15-20 years from now.
