The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2013 Momentum Football (125 Sweet Pics)

Sure, I could sit here and tell you that 2013 Momentum Football is just as good as last year's debut release. But I'd be lying. Fact is, Panini America's 2013 Momentum Football is better than last year's debut -- and you'll notice in the revealing gallery below that the reasons why are both big and small. The upgrade starts with a completely revamped packaging configuration -- starring New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith -- and meanders its way throughout the rest of the product.

Sure, I could sit here and tell you that 2013 Momentum Football is just as good as last year’s debut release. But I’d be lying. Fact is, Panini America’s 2013 Momentum Football is better than last year’s debut — and you’ll notice in the revealing gallery below that the reasons why are both big and small. The upgrade starts with a completely revamped packaging configuration — starring New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith — and meanders its way throughout the rest of the product.

But outside of the box, collectors will likely detect the most notable changes in the product’s calling-card three-piece-memorabilia autographed RCs, which benefit greatly this season from striking foil enhancements. But there’s more to 2013 Momentum Football than fancy foil.

There’s the incorporation of Photoshopped uniform changes documenting the off-season’s biggest transactions (Greg Jennings, Wes Welker, Mike Wallace, Reggie BushDanny Amendola and more). There’s the captivating variety of inserts and autographs and memorabilia that provides excitement on both a visual and value level. There’s the addition of holo-foiled acetate cards and Upside Jumbo memorabilia cards (see if that Christine Michael card below doesn’t attack your senses).

I could go on and on about the things I like in 2013 Momentum Football, but what I think is not important. What you think is. So take your own sweet time perusing the following gallery and let us know. One week from today, you’ll be able to do more than just look. You’ll be able to seize Momentum for yourself.

Enjoy.

  1. Beautiful Gallery!
I Hope that Next years Basketball Mommentum will be like this one!
It will be alot better thab a single pack!
Congrats On The National Treasures Panini!
    Have Fun at the Nationals!

  2. Are the last 6 from this gallery acetate? It kind of looks like it but it’s hard to tell. Checklist available yet?

      1. Well, I found the cards I want to collect from this set the most then! The combination of the acetate with the rainbow foil is absolutely gorgeous! I think those are going to take over the Elite Inscriptions autos as my favorite inserts for this year so far!

  3. I have enjoyed 2012 Momentum especially with the opurtunity to pull the top draft picks. My wife pulled a 3 relic auto of RGIII. What I personally enjoy is the fact that every single pack has a hit. 10 hits from 10 packs! This is one of the top 5 products out there! The 2013 sets design, style, and artistic work is another step above from 2012. The last six cards are outstanding.

  4. Amazing gallery. Love this product!

But tell me photoshopped team changes isn’t going to become the norm for Panini. Give me minicamp photos instead! (Hey, there’s Chubby Wes Welker again!)

  5. The acetates are gorgeous. Those additions in Elite, Prestige and Momentum are quickly becoming my favorite insert besides autos/jerseys. Cards are really nice overall, very clean. You guys even did a good job on the photoshopping of new jerseys for traded players….which is a little scary! Keep it up!

  6. Looks like the Vincent Jackson card is damaged. The front bottom left corner appears to be torn.

    I hope QC caught that.

  7. Hi I have read the checklist for this 2013 Momentum but I was curious about the signatures.I had bought a hobby box and I pulled a Matthew Stafford. The auto is in black but I have notice all signatures are in blue.. what does it mean? Would it be a short print and worth more than others?

  8. Does anyone know about having a black ink auto means. I had pulled a Matthew Stafford Auto patch w black ink but I have notice most signatures are in blue. Is this a short print and worth more?
