As one of the most unique NFL trading-card products on the market, Panini America’s Playbook Football has provided a virtually unrivaled box-busting experience during its first two years. But for year three, that experience promises to grow even richer thanks to several new additions, a few modifications, some unique new content and an earlier release date.

2013 Playbook Football hits hobby shops nationwide on Friday with four-card boxes delivering four autograph or memorabilia cards (including at least two booklets). Earlier this week, The Knight’s Lance served as a fly on the wall as Panini America’s Jim Stefano, Ben Ecklar and Joseph Mackey conducted the Quality Control process.

We shared some of what they uncovered during that process yesterday; today we’re showing you the rest. But we’re bringing you more than just pictures today. After the gallery, stick around to watch exclusive video of the two-case QC that includes tons of hits and key product information from the folks who built 2013 Playbook Football.

To quote Stefano, Panini America’s Senior Director of Product Development, “this is one playbook I wouldn’t mind studying.”

Enjoy.

And now, the exclusive video from the two-case 2013 Playbook Football QC:

  1. Looking pretty sweet! What is up with the picture of the RC premier class on some of the auto books? Is that a lower #’d parallel or something?

  2. Giveaway does sound pretty sweet. Thanks Panini for the info on the Walmart signings, I met Jay Novacek last Saturday! Just another reason Panini is the best!

  3. Absolutely sweet cards 🙂 Again, I’m EXTREMELY excited about this release! That Lacy is CRAZY awesome! Can’t wait to get my hands on some of these!

  4. Pretty nice looking set based on this preview, nice design improvements over last year and solid value per box. The veteran autos are a nice touch but, as usual, would be better if they were on card. Thanks for the coverage Tracy!
